I'm waiting to see what transpires by the deadline Thursday before being too hasty. What today showed us we have a lack of depth to cover when the likes of Wilf are out. Correct, if we had taken a couple of our many half chances in the second half it could have well been different Hennessy had very little to do tbh, their keeper was much the busier.

Hoping (as we all are) for some transfer window miracles. However, we could realistically (and worryingly) be in the position in mid October of having no points on the board. Home to Southampton and Chelsea, away to Man City, Utd and Burnley- tough games all. Away to Newcastle and home to West Ham currently looking the next winnable fixtures- assuming an upturn in form. Fingers crossed for some hard work on the training ground in the international break

This is very true but Frank has put himself in this difficult situation more by pursuing this 3 at the back formation the squad never suited, even though he claimed they do, and the big club managers have the luxury to afford. Frank still has time and he did change it to 4 at the back at 1-0 down and us still in it. I am really unhappy about all this but the goals weren't the manager's fault. But some of the selections and either lack of instruction or assuming anyone can do what his world class teammates or top 8 club players can do, are. By that some of the main issues are PVA always passing back or inside, whether under pressure v Huddersfield or no pressure v Swansea, whereas ward doesn't fail at that but can't attack like PVA. Ward at left back in the 2nd half WHAT? Puncheon being on the pitch at all.

Pardew's team never got booed even with the bad run. There was a reason for that. Since he left booing has happened three or four times. There is a reason for that too. He was a good fit for the club but was hounded out by those who know better

Where to start ? I accept that the change in tactical approach is causing us problems but the fact is we are becoming progressively weaker as a team and any manager who took us on would have problems. I for one would like us to change our approach and look to retain more possession rather than simply hit it up to Benteke each time and regularly concede possession as we did today. We have to find a way of improving our home form and surely an alternative approach is worth trying as is the need to bring in younger players from the Academy and elsewhere I do think the abuse of FdB is over the top. He is the lightening rod for the discontent we all feel about how the last two years have panned out but all the blame should not be laid at his door....the overall lack of quality in the squad has been a developing situation over the last two to three years.

Quite agree and having a s*** start to the season is nothing new either. Par for the course. Fereedman lost the first three games went bottom and everyone wanted him out. Then when it clicked after thee window everything changed and we went from bottom to top. Not good definatrely but its three games in. Thirty five to go.

Amongst other things, I agree with this.
