No spare dosh. And the £50mill from the Yanks has gone very quiet because in all likelihood it has been spent too. Best Chairman we ever had He's about the third or fourth if truth be told. Could just be mind games to lower expectations from both supporters and the clubs we are potentially buying from. I'd take anything that anyone associated with football says in the press with a pinch of salt. It's not as if he can come out and say I can't wait to splash the cash.

So by trying to stay within FFP rules we are being run badly? Man.C and their likes can still pay higher wages through increased revenue from commercial income, player trading and Match Day income with regard to us and similar clubs, competitive football in this league still doesn't involve the clubs as much as the clubs in the rest of the leagues, we are quite possibly over and above our capabilities of performance because on and off the pitch we have mucked about with managers, players and stadium redevelopment for too long resulting in the situation we find ourselves now with monies for the likes of Sakho.

like kermit said earlier, sako & mutch will have cost the club over £20m for what? if schlupp stays with us for the duration of his contract he will have cost the club in excess of £30m Schlupp was man of the match in a couple of games that he played in towards the end of last season and was preferred to start in front of PvA so I wonder why he's sitting on the bench now

Agree with OP. We are in this position due to bad panic signings when previous managers and Parish spend loads on average championship players giving them large contracts to get them in . It would have been better financially to have stuck it out with Pardew and trying for promotion with him if relegated, to often clubs sack their managers needlessly with silly costs.

But we could've been in championship for a decade. Who knows. We certainly wouldn't have had Zaha to bring us back up again this time round

Parish is a past master at managing expectations,he constantly does the old cupboard is bare stuff and then up pops the cash for a Benteke or a PVA.Pay negotiations with him must be a very painful affair indeed. Believe all that you see and treat his comments with a healthy scepticism. The Palace bank is healthy with him, he just needs our new manager to be able to spot healthy prospects and then let him do it regardless of how many wins since 2016 and all that crap.

Big question lol. He just answered above you plus we used most of our potential summer dosh in January. No other team did that. Not even the ones in the relegation mire. In January or next summer more so is when we can spend big again Sorry we spent about £10 mil last summer and £30 mil plus £10 mil add one in January so we've dipped about 25% into thus season's transfer funds. Wages are a problem. If we didn't have wastes of space in the squad it'd be better.

I can believe Sako is on that. I heard he was on £60k. He was a free agent. But Mutch? Are you sure? He only cost £6.5 mil, hardly a big established prem player and as we didn't match Siggurdssen's £60k wage wish I find it hard to believe we gave that to Mutch. Take a third off at least, possibly half.

I actually just listened to the Parish interview and what his actual words were "if you know you're not gonna use them". In my opinion that would rule out players like Cabaye/Dann unless de Boer has decided either are not in his plans which I think would be unlikely. Would think Mutch/Sako/Lee maybe even someone like Kelly are the more likely to depart.
