If you think for a moment that we had more clear chances than them you can't have been at the game. They looked way more dangerous and the 3 - 0 was an absolutely fair result.

Yet the opposition's manager said after the game that the result did not reflect the game totally as Palace had many chances also. But hey, who knows more you or him?

There were obviously many negatives from the game yesterday however we can't be booing a 20 year old on debut for passing the ball backwards 30 minutes into the game. Would it if happened if that was A Palace academy graduate making his first appearance I wonder? I wouldn't be able to understand this if it was a seasoned pro but what exactly are those that are booing hoping to achieve? A youngster on debut who would have been nervous anyway is not going to react positively after that is he.

It will take 7-8 games for FDB to get the players playing in the way he wants them too, with a few more signings coming in too. We may even get beat heavily at Liverpool too. Both them and Huddersfield have developed a style of playing under their managers for 1-2 years and are well adapted to it. We couldn't keep relying on the tactics that got us wins against Chelsea and Arsenal as those tactics also saw us lose against Burnley, West Ham etc. As Parish has hinted at previously, we are struggling to compete financially in the premier league and there is a need to develop the academy and use that source of creating 1st team players...we can't develop players based on a 20-30% possession style game, they may as well not supply balls and just make them run.

Let's give the new manager and his team a chance before we start hammering him and the new younger players eh? What they need is know the fans are behind them not to know that every mistake or decision made that the crowd don't agree with is going to be met with a chorus of boos.

Instead of one hiding in Malta telling us at the game we're in the wrong and the country is a disgraceful mess. Nobody's interested in your tripe.

I am quite happy to see europ's opinion but he is wrong.

We have already played under Pulis and Allardyce and we know how to be successful.

People playing attractive football are a happy band of losers, ok will qualify that maybe not if you have the odd 350 millions that's not us.

I don't think FdB can be successful nothing against him but SP persists in changing his need for success or entertainment.

IMO we are not interested in anything else but 40 points, winning is very entertaining no matter how crap we are.

'park the bus' if there is anything positive from today it is that we have seen what we need to do in the first game of the season.

Don't wait until it's too late that can be uncomfortably soon.....

You are correct that we had probably equal chances to score to them. difference is two things. 1. we were embarrassing defensively at times (sort that out and we don't concede 3 sloppy goals-The second one was so embarrassing) 2. We have to take our chances. We had a couple of very near misses as well as their keeper made a save he had no right to make.
Add that to the incompetence of Moss and his ignorance of persistent fouling of many Zaha but our attacking players in general and it was a tough pill to swallow.
I for one though believe in Frank and what he is trying to do. If we can hold our nerve and be patient for just another couple of games I really believe the results will come.
And then we'll travel to Huddersfield with an IOU and pumped up to put it right.
