He had no business being on the pitch.

I suggest he was bought because he is an FdB 'yes man'.
You could almost hear him thinking 'where do I put this that will please the gaffer'?

Worse still, he'd did that for the entire first half, and probably in the second half too, but he was too far away for me to comment during the second half.

Also was obvious to see that Hennessey ain't comfortable at all playing out from the back but has been instructed not to hoof the ball, I really can't see the problem we've got benteke up top get the ball up to him and try and hit Huddersfield on the break instead of playing about with the ball and letting them all get back.

but we have to win the passing!!!

(even though our pass completion stat was awful and this new system is as far from the Palace way as it gets and negates what makes us beat teams)

Which was not really created. More like a lucky bounce.

Study us under Freedman, Pulis and Alladyce.

Give up on the system and work with the players that you have, that is being a good manager.

Unfortunately I don't think we will change and we will get sparked by Liverpool next week. This could be a blessing in disguise

His ego wont allow him to change anything but it's plainly obvious to anyone where our strength lays, pardew done the same, tried to change our system drastically over night and came unstuck. Berkamp had enough of him because he was sick of him being possessed by possession.

It won't happen over night and FDB has publicly said that. Rather than 'ego' i see a philosophy that has been proven to work. It will need moulding to the Prem. I don't mind a period of transition, which will include a few disaster games and turnover of players, if it means we evolve our style to take us up a couple of notches. You have to break a few eggs to make an omelette.

Proven to work with Spain, Barcelona and Ajax with 3 of the greatest teams that have existed. I'm not convinced we have the players like someone else has said if the board want to back the manager and this philosophy then fine but we need to spend. The opposition only needs to be well drilled and organised and our players look lost, how do you break a team down when you have puncheon passing from left to right then back to dann. Pulis would have a field day playing against us.

Watch arsenal play, ozil, Sanchez and Ramsay do not stop moving, constantly finding and creating space then watch our midfielders. We just ain't good enough our movement off the ball is terrible. Townsend and zaha hitting teams with pace down the wing and getting the ball into benteke, that's what works so why stop ?

It's just so so so so so so simple. Everyone can see it literally everyone.
If FDB wants to see out this new style of play for us he simply cannot play some of the players we have...square pegs round holes right? We don't have the payers with the quick thinking, quick feet, technical ability required.
That cannot ever be our starting 11 again what he played on Saturday.
WARD - not good enough anymore (sorry to say) even at RB let alone being asked to now be more of an attacking outlet for us. All kinds of wrong. When have you EVER seen Ward bomb down the right and swing in any kind of end product? He is a right back end of. And not a very good one anymore either.
HENNESSEY - I mean come on? Why are we not even being linked with any new keepers? I thought him being absolutely dreadful had finally been recognised with Speroni playing a few games but then suddenly w*** Hennessey is back in. He installs 0% confidence in the defence/team and you can just see it. He cannot command a thing. He needs to be replaced and quickly. A new keeper would lift everything. Do it now.
PUNCHEON - can someone please tell me why this bloke walks into our team week in week out? I do not understand. Yes he is red and blue throughout but what does he ever actually do? He would get a 5/10 every game almost over the last 2 years! He doesn't create, he doesn't defend, he breaks down passages of play numerous times because he needs 11 touches and fannying around with it in a circle before he can release it. He is dead wood and a wast of someone else who could be playing. Keep him club captain but he is not good enough and we all know it. I don't understand what attributes he brings to our starting 11. Squad yes team hell no not anymore.

We desperately need a new GK and a striker too. What the hell happens if Benteke gets injured? I mean seriously? We have absolutely nobody it's pure madness. Hence why he strolls around most the time knowing that his pace is under no threat whatsoever.

Get Cabaye fit and back in the team. Start Townsend as he is one of the only players at the club who can run at players and attack teams at pace and actually have a proper end product, either having a crack at goal himself or a nice little dink for Benteke.

And sign Sakho. Now. For the love of god sign him. Even if he only has one leg.

My team with the squad as it is would be and if RDB insists on 3-4-3:
GK Speroni
LCB Reidewald
CB Dann
RCB Tomkins
LWB Van Aanholt
RWB Fosu-Mensah
CM Milivojevic
CM RLC
AM Townsend
AM Zaha
ST Benteke

And this is only the team if Cabaye is still crocked. He needs to fit in somewhere when he is back in RDB style team as he is our only decent passer of the ball.

THE END.

Think if we had time to get used to the formation it could work.

But the Premier League is far too punishing for that and we just cant risk it at the time being.
Could take months for the formation to start working and at that point it could be too late.

It looks as though we dont have the right players to be using this formation. You need player who can pass out from the back, Dann is obviously trying but just is not good enough, gifted Huddersfield with a 1 on 1 after a misplaced pass, then Reidewald passes back to Hennessey every time he got the ball.

Seems silly to be trying to pass out from the back when we have Benteke who wins nearly every long ball.

For gods sake sign Sakho. We need a leader at the back who will help Riedewalde no end. It was Danns responsibilty to talk to the youngsters either side of him but it was TFM at 19 who was more of a leader. Im afraid Scotty couldnt inspire a loaf to rise in the oven these days. Tomkins Sakho and Riedwalde at the back and with Sakho there Riedewalde will improve
