Four absolutely class signings and kept us in the Prem.

Is the correct answer

Shock horror. Someone in football is interested in maximising his income from the game.

How do you feel about Zaha who was apparently desperate to leave until we doubled his wages

Yes, but the point in Sam's case is that he said almost in as many words that he'd had enough of football (and therefore by implication in maximising his income from it) and that his interest now was in spending time with his family.

Only just a few weeks later he is bored with his family and wants to come back into football. When will everyone realise all he is interested in is milking money from unsuspecting clubs. You might argue he kept us up, well he was in charge when we avoided relegation but was it him or the players that were determined not to be associated with relegation?
Ok so I am biased but living now in the North and knowing people who know him well I can tell you all , believe it or not , all he is interested in is payouts!!?

That's taking rewriting history to a new level. Were those same players so "determined not to be associated with relegation" before Allardyce arrived? Did Allardyce's signings, that at last dealt with obvious gaps in our squad, make no difference to our survival? Everyone who's done a good job for us, notwithstanding the nature of his departure (and there's two sides to every story) immediately becomes a cnut, so be warned Frank.

Because fans get upset thinking that oooh he's now opening up cos he's out of work and won't stop talking in connection to his last club... If anything guys he's possibly trying to put it in Loftus cheeks head he should sign for Palace permanently next summer if successful here as he'd blossom all the quicker.

Sam unlike warnock always more or less talked sense. I liked Sam. I enjoyed him as our manager. Will miss the guy.

He only wants an international job. That's acceptable to me. That's what he always wanted til he f***ed it up. He's had enough of club management unless man utd came calling. He no longer wants to just manage a prem team and survive.

Plus an international job would mean less hours and more time with the family.

Hey don't get me wrong I'm sure we'll see him offered and accepting a boat load of money to save another club but who cares really.

He done what we needed and then didn't want to commit further.

Who knows maybe he'll come and save our necks again if FdB doesn't work out. (Could actually see that happening if it really goes Pete Tong).

I agree. always comes back to a Willo thread. Ive lost count of how many times he says he wont comment more on a thread and then proceeds to do so more and more.

Always so negative. I don't agree he is a troll and accept he's a through and through but fed up with hearing about Mrs Willo and his gloomy uptake on Palace. Especially when chip are down

Willo ... admit for most of last season you thought we were going down.

Tip - your comments are sometimes insightful and you have great historical references to palace - but stop being so negative as a palace fan. We know its often doom and gloom but we always keep the faith.

BS is having withdrawal symptoms and misses us more each day.

Best give him a call in November so he can come and 'park the bus'.

I distinctly remember posting that we would go down, probably in March (?) and I am delighted to have been proved wrong.

I started a thread to highlight the fact that I was wrong and 'Held my hands' up NOT because I wished to be thrust into the spotlight but to show I was not too proud to admit that I had erred.Alas I got pilloried for starting such a thread.

He was never going to be a long term manager either. Regardless of whether of not his reasons for leaving were genuine, we are still probably better of with FDB.

I saw BFS on the telly not exactly dismissing a return to management. Is this because there is usually among managers an addiction to the game they just cannot put down? Or is BFS just another two-faced rat that be sets our game?
Still as long as he is willing to return in January
