I know...it would appear that we're both as bad as one another for not reading things through before posting!

The U.S investors have done nothing? Cabaye, Townsend, Benteke, Luca, PVA and Schlup have all been signed for just under £100 million combined. And that's just their transfer fees. I'm not sure we would have got these deals over the line without the Yankee dollar.

Yep. If things are going well on the pitch, these people will stay in the background, unseen and unknown to the supporters. As soon as things turn bad - like Coventry, Blackburn, Birmingham, Hull etc etc. they will act in the only way they know how - recoup as much of the loss as possible to whoever they can, forget about the fans, and run.

That's a little unfair. Birmingham's problems didn't come about because they were owned by a foreigner but because their particular foreigner ended up in prison which effectively makes it little different to English owned clubs like Blackpool and Hull's owner pumped tens of millions into the club in return for the fans supporting his request to change the clubs name but it was the same fans who were overjoyed at him rescuing the club and funding it to the promised land of the Premiership who objected like mad when he wanted to add the word "Tigers" to the club's name.

To be fair, I do think that, at least to SP, it's become a lot more than that, but he's clever enough to know how far he can take it. As for the Americans, they'll take a decent return on they're investment anytime; it's what they're in it for.

The Americans want a big return on their investment and must have been concerned last season that the club could be worth a lot less in the Championship. New infrastructure would certainly add value to the club but it will probably take years to get through planning as it always seems to do over here. The obvious thing for them to do is sell up while the club enters a new season unblemished by league standing. Pardew was probably right in suggesting the American owners knew "sod all" about football but he may well have added they don't give a toss about anything other than their money.

MK I know your eye is untrained but where is the evidence that the US investors do not want to put anymore money into the club. The rewards from Sky and the rest plus the incomes from ticket sales and sponsorships etc. If the business is being run right will be more than the outgoings. In addition any business with an original owner will always want to see what he started continue. In our case our owners allowed the Americans in on the basis it would continue our development. If we now reject the Chinese offer it does not mean we want to sell it might mean that they are not the right bidders to continue our development along the lines of our owners original passion for the club.

Makes for grim reading.
On the face of it the Americans will not want to put any more money into the club as it costs too much, and they want to sell , but who but the Chinese will pay that much money for Palace.
Looks like we will be in limbo for a long time.
I hope not , but it looks that way to the untrained eye.

C'mon guys,its a business.
There's a lot of money sloshing around and as SP is a fan as well,if he could earn 100/200% on his return...not many here who would turn that down.

And if they offered him half price Chinese T/A from Mr Chow in Knightsbridge its gotta be a done deal

If you're not having people making offers to buy your business on a very regular basis, then your business isn't doing very well.
Take it as a complement rather than a chance to see negatives such as "The American's have lost interest".

Sorry but have just woken up so don't have a go at me My question is would such a deal include the ground ? If so it raises the question of development potential.

This was mentioned to me three weeks ago by my neighbour who is a Spanish ex professional and who now scouts for Chelsea in Spain and South America, thought it was a load of bóllocks at the time.

He said we were being taken over by some Chinese and was told this at a meeting of Chelsea scouts at the Belfast.
I will have to get more inside gossip from him.
