If the rumours were true Wickham is on £75k per week and in my opinion regardless of money is a waste of space.
Bench yes - but why pay a man that much to sit on the bench.
Ridiculous purchase by Pardew!

Are you sure that it was actually Pardew that bought him?

He wasn't purchased to play on the bench, he was paid to lead the line. When fit, he looked good as well.

Our best bet is to take our time with him and not rush him back, because he can still be a real asset to the squad.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

That "waste of space" scored a brilliant goal in a Wembley semi-final...

I have a feeling after watching Wickham since his time at Palace that he is desperate to do well, every Injury he comes back and looks a very decent player,he is still young and technically very good. I predict good things from him.

It will be tough for him to come back this year. Looks like he will be an if only player.

it's concerning b/c knee ligament surgery has progressed so rapidly. in the 80's it was career ending. 90's meant 1-2 years. and since then, it's gotten down to 6-12 months, with 12 at the really high end. CW isn't even close after last fall. he's pushing the limits of time to heal. he should at least be doing light training by now. not on the treadmill but on the field.

At best he will be a bit player in future, when fit he might make the bench that's about it.

You just make yourself look silly when making statements like that with such certainty.

Before his injury, Wickham looked fantastic. No reason he can't get back to that.

Exactly. I forget Murray's exact injury, but he was almost as good as he was pre-injury when he came back.

When fit, he's a weapon.
Fingers crossed.
