That is just media speculation from one particular person and his opinion is no more valid than anyone else's. Not only that but it starts off by incorrectly stating that "Crystal Palace want more defensive reinforcements after completing the signing of Dutch starlet Jairo Riedewald on Monday, something which FdB had denied.

Personally, I don't think many of our defenders are able to play the 'De Boer way' so would leave me to believe the article has some truth in it.
Reidewald signing is imminent and is known as a ball playing defender/midfielder and I don't think you can get more in the know than Jim White, who claimed Chambers was being considered as well, this backs up the idea that De Boer doesn't fancy our current defenders.

As for the striker, no one had a clue about Ruben Loftus Cheek signing until the day before he did and I wouldn't be surprised if the same happened with a striker. The past has proven that SP likes to do his business quietly.

I agree we're light up front however I'm sure the manager knows that and has a plan in place to add firepower. Whether that's waiting to see if we can loan someone towards the end of the window or getting someone in permanently earlier. He may want to assess options at the Asia Cup before deciding on what sort of a striker to get in. Dwight Gale or Glenn Murray anyone?
