Need to keep quality players if we mean to progress, even when he's not at his best he still works flipping hard.

Are you nuts?

He is quite simply a game changer when he's on song. Certainly one of Palace's most improved players last year.

I think Big Sam managed to get a tune out of him, whereas Pardew didn't...

Yep. In an interview toward the end of the season he said he was fitter, faster & happier than he'd ever been in his career - I reckon that showed on the pitch too.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

Townsend became a classic case of "if you work hard, regardless of quality the fans will like you" .

He was never the best under Big Sam, but his presence was definitely recognised through his endless running.

I like Townsend, trouble is he blows hot and cold far too much for a premiership player. If we can get 20m we should take it and look at Oliver Burke or Demerai Gray

He was pretty s*** under Pardew as was most of the team. Excellent second half of the season.

the dignified don't even enter in the game

Just can't see why any player would even consider leaving their large contract living in London, playing in the premier league to go and live and play in Newcastle.

Very much depends on their playing situation at their respective clubs and what Newcaastle can offer them both on the playing side and terms.

Also there are some lovely places outside Newcastle where footballers live IE Ponteland,Northumberland.

And of course Newcastle play in front of 50,000 passionate supporters.

So a few factors involved regarding transfers from London to Newcastle.

Well having lived in both the South East and the North East I certainly can see the attraction of living up there

I have heard that Ponteland,Prestwick and Yarm are nice areas to live in the North-East but alas I haven't visited them.

I have visited lovely areas in the North-West ie Hale, Bowdon,Prestbury,Alderley Edge,Wilmslow etc.
