I'm sure that if Sam had still been here we would have already brought in the players that he wanted but transfers had to go on the backburner until a new manager had been appointed. As long as the coaching and fitness is up to scratch we could do far worse than to start with the same team that wopped Liverpool last season and any signings could be seen as a bonus

Yes I appreciate it feels like things are dragging but I'd rather sign the right players than the wrong players

Yes I can understand why some people might be frustrated with the lack of incomings but bearing in mind the manager only met the players a week ago we shouldn't be too disappointed. There's still 5 weeks to go till the season starts so there's no need to panic.

We spent a lot in January window. We have to live within our means. Lets see what reaction De Boer gets from the players, if need be strengthen in January window.

3 or 4 players needed minimum. Probably end up with a couple permanent, a couple of loans, maybe 1 or 2 academy players bought through to bulk out the squad.

Messing about in the transfer market in the few weeks after your manager has unexpectedly resigned (and you don't have a new one lined up) may pacify a few on these boards but wIll infer that the new manager doesn't have autonomy. De boer needs to know that it will be his team.

Also with fitness and organisation and £40 mil spent in January we were decent in the last third of the season.

Players only just back in training. Big Frank assessing the team (he has probably assumed Mutch is one of the groundsmen,) I reckon we will see some moves before the team heads off to the pointless tournament we are in this year.

Honestly, with FDB as our manager and with the current squad we've got I'm not too stressed. FDB is not Pardew, he is not an idiot. I do not believe that FDB will roll out the type of unprepared team that Pardew did for the first match last season. And if we'd got only a few points from the easybeat teams we'd have been safe well before Hull. Without any additions, this is a team capable of beating any team in the prem. But what Pardew had us doing last season was losing to easybeats - our defense was completely disorganised and timid. FDB will IMHO get this team, especially the defense, more disciplined and consistent. Additions like Sahko will be a bonus - but I am not stressed - we'll stay up.

I realy do wonder what's wrong with some people?!? All the angst and frustration with our managerial vacancy and CPFC2010 pulled off a blinder, and I'm pretty sure they'll do similarly with transfers. Also, FdB has barely had time with the players to know what he wants/needs. Just chill FFS!
Cynic or realist? It's a fine line! |

It's all in hand as long as we do not sell any of the first teamers, we will be fine. I don't think Spurs have signed anyone at the moment, so we are in good company. When i look at some of the signings made so far by the other clubs i think we are better off keeping our money in our pockets. I mean 75 million for Lukaku, come on....
