Really, how's our recruitment drive going so far. We can't afford to sell Benteke unless a astronomical bid is made 60m. The squad depth is weak as it is. I hope we see a new arrival by next week. When do the players leave for the Asia cup. calm down dear - we got the right manager in didn't we, despite all the impatience and pants wetting? To answer your question, our recruitment drive would be going a lot better with a £40m cash boost.

Just like the appointment of the manager we don't have a clue but there again many of our past signings haven't been plastered all over the media and have come as a surprise. As I have just posted elsewhere the side that beat Liverpool at Anfield is still with us so in theory all we need is to beef up the squad players

Isn't the money stupid? 75m for Lukaku. How much does a whole club get for staying in the prem? 100m? and 3/4 of that on ONE player when you need a squad of 24+??? And this besides wages? This is seriously silly. 30m + wages to put Benteke on a bench? Beginning to think we should maybe tell em to f@ck off and play in the Championship. Man Utd revenues for 2016 were 550 million quid. The 75 million they lay out here is alot, but you have to invest money to make money. If Lukaku succeeds, like many think he will, they will make that money back in shirts alone over 5 years.

I can't see us letting him go for less that £35-40 million but who could we get in to replace him? This is crazy. Why would we sell him for 35-40m ? who would we buy to replace him? It's not as if we've got another fit striker waiting in the wings. How long have we waited for a top draw striker? And now we want to turn a £10m profit on him?

Glad you are not the key negotiator of the club. You may possibly could have noticed prices are slightly inflated since the new tv deal. We paid 30, he is under contract till 2020, how about 75 as a starting figure?

I'd be more worried about Everton chasing Benteke than Chelsea, personally. They need to splash 35-40m on a top striker who'll want to go there. The fact is, a bid of a certain size and wages of a certain size will always pull players away from Palace. The only club in the whole world that never sells its prime talent is Real Madrid (the time is coming where Ronaldo needs to leave anyway -- so that won't count). So rather than howling that such a thing cannot happen, it's much more important to accept that it can and will, and to be ready for that day, whenever it comes. I'd take Batshuayi and Zouma for Benteke all day long, were a deal like that 'on' (without them trying to insert a buy back into the deal for the two they sold us).
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Benteke would not fit with the Chelsea style, but would be a perfect fit for Everton. They would be the main risk for me, specially that they have wads of cash.
