I would be happy for us to spend that level of money on Tety and Veltman from Ajax and still have circa £15m to put towards a decent keeper. As much as I loved Sakho we have to be careful not to put all our eggs in one basket, plus he has shown he can pick up a few injuries which we could ill afford having spent £30m!! I think this has to be a case of the head ruling the heart for SP.
Some people are like Slinkies … not really good for anything, but you can’t help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs. |

Sakho will not fetch £30 million, eventually a lesser fee will be negotiated by another club. Pickford 30m Maguire 17m Ake 20m Sakho at 30m is about the going rate. We will have to look abroad for our players because we need so many.

If they don't get Champion's league this season Koeman could be fired. I hate to break this to you but it seems no one has told you. We simply ain't in that league mate.

As a loanee Sakho made perfect sense. He was brought in to help save us from relegation. Mission accomplished. Liverpool are out to make a big splash in the transfer market and I really don't think their price is going down unless it is towards the end of the window and they really want to get rid of him. At 30 million that is too much for Palace to pay, especially after breaking the bank for Benteke, which was value for money. Plus, we don't know who FdB and the scouting department has been looking at. As good as he is, Sakho isn't the only centre half out there that can solidify our back 4. There's a great, wide, wonderful world of players out there.
Divorced...And LOVING it! |

In terms of attendances, Everton were getting @39,000 each game at home last season. Edited by Willo (03 Jul 2017 8.21pm)

If we can afford 28 million for Benteke....then we can afford 25 mill for Sakho it has nothing to do with how rich the Everton owners are....their books will be balanced when they sell Lukaka and Barkley.....

After the Benteke episode I would not bother trying to deal with Liverpool.

What don't you understand. The budget 30m and we have to get in at least 4 to 5 players. The Benteke deal is completely different as strikers go for premium. Also you won't lose money on Benteke as goal scorers are expensive. We also had the 28m bolaise sale to balance against the purchase of Benteke.

We clearly have limited funds otherwise we'd not have Jordan Mutch, and the like, on our books. Surely you must know that? We could buy Sakho but then we'd have nowt left for the various other positions we need cover for. Westina can I ask how old you are? Do you run your own household? Ever had to repay a contractual debt? Edited by Aray (03 Jul 2017 8.53pm)
