No, and I think ultimately the reason for firing the manager is economical, not political or political correctness, but as a means of avoiding increasing negative publicity probably more relating to the fact it was a charity event for the victims of the Grenfell tower fire. But I think as well the behaviour of others involved is far worse, and what he said, its not really a sacking offence at all. But its not political correctness. Its the 'snowflake' self righteous mentality, and bullying. Fair analysis actually.

Fair analysis actually. Part of me wants to say, that some people are going to make a lot of money out of charity for the Greenfell victims. Tragedy brings out all the scammers.

Tragedy brings out a lot of all sorts of bad behaviours. The need for people to be part of a tragedy, to be photographed at a tragedy and to out-mourn others after a tragedy sickens me. There are a handful of people doing heroic things and those are probably the people you'll never hear about. I share your cynicism because actually it's the people that aren't heroes at all that we get to hear about. But I fully accept there must be some good people acting almost entirely altruistically and at least that offsets everything else a bit.

Friend of mine has the job of forensically recovering the victims from the building. He spent 5 months last year recovering the remains from the Didcot power station fire.

It wasn't a typo. I will freely admit that, for example, I don't think Laura Kuenssberg, or Andrew Marr, or Nick Robinson should be allowed to present the news on the BBC because I think their views put in jeopardy the impartiality claims of the Beeb. Maybe more appropriately for questions about PC, I think Richard Scudamore shouldn't be Prem chairman given that he sent incredibly sexist emails about his secretary. He's still there though, just as John Snow is still at C4 despite numerous right wing pundits calling him a leftie. After a while you just have to accept all this as a fact of life, that various groups can exercise and wield power at times to get what they want, and at other times they have to accept a bias against them. I have two issues with people who are really viciously anti-PC. First, they tend to be white men, and if you're a white man and think you're being persecuted, you really need to open your eyes IMO. Second, they tend to focus in on tiny, inconsequential stories like the one you've put up here as evidence for a global conspiracy. Fact is, you can go to near enough any corner on this earth as a white man and you're treated like a king. Try it as a Muslim woman and you won't be so lucky. This is entirely true... Political correctness is actually about treating people with respect, rather than just making assumptions or being downright rude and discriminatory.

She was involved in a tragedy (I've forgotten which one now). Her job was to go and match up dismembered limbs to dead bodies. It proper f**ked her up. She had a lot of counselling. Sounds daft, but she was a good runner, very fit (in an athletic sense) and slim (this was all before I knew her). She's now pretty big and struggles to run 5k. Totally messed her up.

It's all about compartmentalisation and control of mind I suppose.
