Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Didn't Chris Coleman get used as a striker once or twice in desperation? I've a vague memory of being at Highbury and thinking "WTF?". Or maybe it was another of my nightmares.

I was also well into Palace in the early seventies and although I didn't go to many away games I went to most home games and can't really remember the details of most of them at all and in quite a few cases I can't even recall some of our players when I read their names now. I can remember isolated instances like Peter Osgood tripping over a blade of grass as he was desperate not to score as they didn't want us relegated and conceding three goals against Arsenal when not one of them should have stood and of course I can remember the drubbing that we dished out to Manchester United plus John Hughes's wonder goal and that's about it from a whole decade

I did it again in 1975/6, but after watching the cup semi-final defeat (mugging) by Southampton, I was so devastated I didn't complete it. Still got that too! I remember the massive optimism before the Notts County game..,the new colours...Eagles instead of Glaziers, but do you remember the bizarrre player nicknames on the back of the programme! Swindles was 'The Problem if I recall correctly!
