I massively disagree that you are patriotic....Not in my view, not from your contributions on here anyway. The only way I've ever seen you characterise patriotism is via economics. Edited by Stirlingsays (24 Jun 2017 3.27pm) How f***ing dare you. Why do you think I'm so passionate about politics. I want what I and a lot of others believe in to make our country better. I'd say that was patriotic.
How f***ing dare you call me unpatriotic.

These are commercial products. It's not the same thing. The BBC is funded by public mandated subscription. You really have to forgo television to avoid paying for it. There are left wing rags and papers like the Mirror and Guardian. The fact that they aren't as numerous is a reflection of the country. The BBC shouldn't be left nor right....it should represent both views and none. Unfortunately due to its employment policies it is basically a form of New Labour....That's fine as one viewpoint...but really it should allow all viewpoints to come through. Either that or stop doing opinion and just report facts as best you can.....But I don't think that's a realistic requirement for any broadcaster so instead I think it has to do a far better job of representing the political landscape. Three off the top of my head - Andrew Neil, Ian Hislop and Laura Keonigsberg - are definitely not Left and are BBC big hitters. If I could be bothered I could find plenty more of their ilk who are employed by Auntie and get to say their piece. It's a home of creatives who are traditionally more liberal and left but this daft disingenuous talk that the BBC is overtly bias is the next headline for John Craven's Fake Newsround folks.

How f***ing dare you call me unpatriotic. Sorry if it offends you Nick but I do dare. Mainly because I think it's the truth. I don't think you are patriotic. You couldn't even relate passion to an actual country. Instead you referred to Britain, which is a 'nation of nations'.

Again...you like Nick equate patriotism to economics. Personally I don't regard either of you as patriotic. If this country was under threat somehow I don't think I'd see you two alongside me in the trench line. You know nothing. You are a silly sentimentalist.

Your ancestral homes. edit: forget Northern Ireland as I remember you don't do your 'irish' blood. Edited by Kermit8 (24 Jun 2017 3.59pm)

All three of those are massively critical of the Tories. I'd agree that they aren't 'progressives' but that's about it. There are plenty of BBC commentators and producers who betray obvious bias. One of Newsnight's presenters is on LBC and is often cited by a massive lefty on here. Your post just doesn't recognise the reality that the BBC is funded by the public yet doesn't reflect its public in any way....They are committed to racial diversity but not class nor political diversity......It's New Labour or the pretense of being even handed when the stories they choose to comment on show that they aren't. Essentially the inaction on this is going to see the BBC massively reduced......when things aren't balanced it basically ends up destroying everything.

S'funny then how Thatcher and Tebbit were gunning for it big time in the eighties before the terms New labour and Racial Diversity had even been thought of. I refer to my previous point about sensitive Tories. They are just another one of those annoying easily-offended groups out there. Maybe we could have a Tory Right Rights Awareness Day to help.

Well, I'm not offended. The BBC certainly aren't offending me. I've just made points about how it runs itself.
