His got to be better than Hennessey at least if cillessen comes he will be a proper no 1 goalkeeper

Interest in the player but only as a loan signing with a view to a permanent next summer. Where's all our funds gone. His release clause is €60 million! Unless there's a willingness from Barca to part with him then he's financially way out of range in this window.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

They obviously wanted him long term. His contract says €60m so, if they don't want to sell, that's what he'll cost. If they do then they will no doubt want a decent return on their investment as they will need to find a replacement.

I can only imagine a deal at £15m or under would be possible and even then highly unlikely we'd pay so much for a keeper. On the other hand and maybe more likely is a loan. Would give Cillessen game time which is what he wants and let's Barcelona keep him on their books which is probably what they want. So might suit all parties in the short term.

I was in Barca a few months back & the locals seemed to think he was there to step up when Ter Stegen goes off to Bayern as the eventual replacement for Neuer. They thought it hysterical that Citeh had paid so much for Bravo compared with what they got for their money with Cillesen.

I'd be more than happy for us to sign him but hey if we have to become a finishing school of Barcelona stars then so be it! Who'd have thought that a few years ago...

What a load of nonsense sod other clubs, we got to a time now where we shouldn't be relying on loans. I not a massive favour of loans, for instance RLC impressive at palace then he use us as a platform to either stay at Chelsea or move to a bigger club than palace. Cillessen if he great then Barca sell him to another club, while the budget is smaller compared to last year. The same problems in squad remain 12 months later. Edited by Dan89 (11 Jul 2017 6.52am)

As cpfc/sccc has stated There is talk of a possible season long loan for Cillessen with an option to buy in the summer as well. Surely that would a great deal for Palace to see how he copes firstly adapting to life in the UK (especially London) as well as possibly playing in the Premiership. This would in hindsight have been a bloody good option with Mandanda considering some of the problems he had (injury aside) at the end of the day and the total expense involved verses return! That then leaves more money available for other targeted transfer options.
