At the risk of sounding like a certain 'look at me' poster on HOL, Banksy went to my Uni.

He was never really 'taken in' by the Bristol 'graffiti fraternity' due to his use of 'cheaty' stencils, freehand being the accepted pure form of the art, lots of W*NKSY stencils going up in reaction.

Banksy borrowed heavily from French Artist Blek le Rat, and had run ins with street artists over the years, notably Robbo, who mysteriously sustained a head injury, resulting in coma and unfortunately his death.

Well that's put a bit of a dark cloud over the world of illegally defacing public property.

Still wouldn't make me vote Labour.

Before there was a concept of private property or any laws surely? Not that I was around so I stand to be corrected.

Well, you did say Public property originally.

Making your 'mark' on this planet has always been an interest of individuals in their ephemeral fleeting moments on this spinning ball. Modern graffiti is a product of the ugly modern societies we have built for ourselves, so it's hardly surprising that the majority of it is ugly.

It's always happened, regardless of who claimed ownership of the wall.

You are right, I did. Probably more of a mis-type rather than what I meant, but it's a fair cop!

Classic. That's the Monty Python scene right? Just to make sure I understood....
