You must have watched a different Scott Sinclair to me. Was an excellent loan addition to the squad.

Agreed, worked really hard in the team and recollect him winning the penalty in the play offs which would of sent us to Wembley. Maybe he should of took it himself !!

Taylor was dog plop. We signed him on the same day as Dougie from Barnet and Taylor came with the much bigger reputation. Luckily Dougie turned out to be great and it took away some of the disappointment of how crap Taylor was.

Taylor built up a very good partnership with Marcus Stewart at Rovers, once split certainly didn't work, unlike the full package.

I was very excited about the signing of Sasa Curcic. Did nothing except an oddball moment where he protested about a war around Selhurst if memory serves me right.

Clive Allen, back years ago. Scored one of the best "disallowed" goals in the history of the game, and did naff all else.

Beat me to it. He was absolute class.

We must have a different idea of 'class' then. Compared to how he was at others, he was a disappointment.

The vast majority of 'big names' in the past have been let downs, whether Brolin or Davids, we could only afford them when they were truly past it.

For me the current disappointment has been Mandanda. I had my reservations about us bringing him in but I was pleasantly surprised when he was playing, was really hopefully that we had found a world class goalie but alas. Injuries may have forced him out of the side but I don't think his non-inclusion in the side for a long time has been physical.

Thomas Brolin, was cr** for us.

That was going to be my choice, I actually did wet myself with excitement when we signed him, well maybe just a little dribble :-) a genuine world class player in his day, but I guess the fact that he was signing for us in the first place I should've known what was to follow!!

Years ago; can't remember the game or the dire performance or the particular 'signing' in question, but it was in the early days of my Palace 'career', sitting with my Dad in the Main Stand.

The recent signing was given some verbal along the lines of "a hundred thousand for that? I thought you were s'posed to be quality". A Palace wag shouted; "Listen mate, if we had Pele down here, he'd play like a cvnt!"

If that wag was you, you've kept me entertained for a good 40+ years!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

He did one good thing, scored a hat-trick when we were down to 9 men, if my memory serves me right.
