Oh, and I would think that if a candidate were going to throw you over because you said you wanted to take x amount of time to consider the deal then that wasn't the candidate for you. Within reason, obviously.

Headhunting quality happens that way sometimes. Recruiting for what you think can be filled by umpteen people makes recruiter turn away, which is what Parish may believe. A lot of people can do this, when it's not critical I'll pause for however long.

I would of thought getting a manager in, is the priority. There is no point rushing round signing players a new manager doesn't want.
The OP seems to think we are falling behind, but without any knowledge of what is going on behind the scenes. Personally, I feel it's better to hear nothing until they are signed, otherwise we tend to lose out to bids from other clubs.

I said ARE we falling behind. I'm not expecting us to of signed 8 players or any for that matter. I just stated where does it leave the likes of Campbell's, Ledley and Hennessy's. The players with their contracts up. Are they going to be told there needed or to find new clubs.

Andy Johnson Magic, He wears a Magic Hat
When he Sees the match ball, he says he having that
He scores one with left foot, he scores one with his right
And When his playing Brighton, He scores all f***ING Night!

Why are you worrying about the future of fringe players that are out of contract?? could understand if it was Benteke, Townsend and Zaha, but players that have had no input for months seems strange.

Plus how can Parish get stick regarding the situation, no one and that includes Parish were expecting SA to quit, especially in the way he has, regarding retirement.

Is Silva really all that?? relegation on his CV hardly a world beater.

Has anyone considered that SP did contact Silva or his agent about the vacant post at Palace but found that he wasn't interested in meeting and preferred to continue his dialogue with Watford!

Possibly? people don't know what is happening behind closed doors, but get so hysterical about what they think is happening!
It is the same every transfer window or new management recruitment.
Parish got slated about SA before anyone knew the facts, got slated he took to long over Benteke, he has done the business regarding Wilf, but people still make out he is sitting on the beach somewhere oblivous to us not having a manager.

The seasons just finished, the players are on holiday and Parish needs time to make the right choice regarding a new manager.

We're not 'missing out' on anything. Most managers, coaches and players are away on well earned holidays for the next few weeks so little transfer business is likely unless pre-arranged. In any case I believe players contracts don't run out until the first of July.

I'm still trying to figure out why some people are determined to criticise his handling of this when they don't know what that handling actually is.

Not determined as such. Just some trying to make out we were not in with a shout for the only person with recent evidence of Premiership capabilities (23 points over half a season of 19 games and the worst squad and situation) and available to just Watford whilst we had a vacancy. Fvcking Watford.

There is a good chance this'll cost us £5 mil or near that in compo or we watch a talent thrive.

I've already told you what I think about that; and it isn't only you.

My thought was compared to other prem sides. Are we now as underprepared as the play off winners. Whilst the fringe players are not been fantastic. If the managerial situation takes another 2 weeks. The new manager may need as many as 10 new players, which is difficult to recruit. The uncertainty could mean the likes of Cabaye and Townsend are unsettled.
