Of course, but she does voice what a lot of people are thinking. Yes, Alf Garnett was funny, and satirical. Anyone who thinks of Katie Hopkins as their spokesperson really should take stock of their self esteem and reality. Katie Hopkins is your spokesperson? Jesus, I'd rather have Helen Keller as mine.

Jesus, I'd rather have Helen Keller as mine. She is pro British state. I would have her as my spokesman before anyone I'd imagine you'd have. I don't agree with everything she thinks but what I do notice is that the activists who attack her care nothing for balance themselves. That twitter verdict was frankly criminal in my estimation. Complete and utter BS. Edited by Stirlingsays (26 May 2017 12.22pm)

Another win for those who wish to close down controversial views and term them as 'hate speech'. I have no issues with disagreeing with Hopkins but why has this happened? Don't say anything the lefty activists don't like. They won't stop until your public voice is closed down.

She's just there for the money, and you're the one who said a) she's a spokesperson b) you're not affected by politics. I hate her for the same reason I hate Diane Abbot, they exist to shut down debate and reason, not extend it. They're the embodiment of the ideology of sound byte politicking

Alf Garnett was satire and also an insult. Yes, but actually funny and quite intelligently done. Katie Hopkins isn't satire, but the effect is pretty much the same. The joke might not be intentional, but its definitely squarely on the people who 'identify with her'. She is as much of an asset as Diane Abbot is to the Labour party. She appeals to a group, who's vote you'd have gotten anyway. All she does is alienate everyone with sympathies. Edited by jamiemartin721 (26 May 2017 12.37pm)

That makes Abbott significantly more dangerous yet I don't hear the cries of any baying mob calling for her to be silenced.

Edited by jamiemartin721 (26 May 2017 12.37pm) I would stand up and complain if Abbott's voice was closed down. I don't agree with people being sacked because they don't fit. I believe in the marketplace of ideas. Abbott's a hypocritical pillock but she represents a group whose voice deserves to be heard and represented. I agree with some of what Hopkins says and less so on some others. Regardless it isn't for those who don't like her to be rewarded with closing her down.

Her views aren't controversial, their often in fact slanderous and libellous; and as such their the consequence, legally of LBC. As long as she's not banned, then she isn't being 'shut down' by a conspiracy - If she can't defend her view point, then its a view point that has no value. I very much it was a liberal elite at LBC that hired her.

I'd expect an angry response after saying something so ignorant. Explain to me why that is an ignorant statement and not, (by and large) a factual statement of the knife crime in and around Croydon/London ? Edited by dannyh (26 May 2017 12.48pm)
