I personally think he could do well for us but he needs a chance to show if he is good enough or not He hasn't been rated by a series of managers since we've been in the PL and has therefore been out on loan to Championship clubs for the majority of the time that he hasn't been on the treatment table. If he hasn't made the breakthrough at his age, he's never going to. Would we consider signing him, to take up a place in the 25, if he wasn't "one of our own"? His time at Palace is over and he needs to move on with his career elsewhere and all the best to him.

He was generally behind Mortiz, Garvan and Dobbie in the pecking order in an attacking role and didn't contribute as much as those three did. I can't think of a single game where he put in a MOTM performance or really dazzled?

Would love to see him get a run out in some friendlies, he is palace through and through, whether he can hack it in the premier league is yet to be established, would like to think he could earn a place on the bench maybe. I'd argue that whether he can hack it in the Championship is still up for debate. Before his injury last season he wasn't playing particularly regularly for Ipswich, mostly off the bench.

I've said in the past and stand by it now, timing worked against Joniesta. If we hadn't got promoted from the Championship when we did I think he would have featured in Palace's lineup in 2013-2014, coupled with the timing, frequency and severity of his injuries I'm afraid fate worked against him and I think he will go down as a `what if` story for Palace like Bostock. I'm afraid for his own good he needs to move on to pastures new.

i would much rather have a local academy graduates like williams & kai kai on the bench than the wasters we have had for the last few seasons... campbell / lee / mutch / sako / guerdoura / remy all if those players earnt a small fortune and never made any significant contribution to the club.

IMO hes the only player from the remainder of the team that went up that hasn't developed at all, his career has stood still, was injured loads barely getting games off the bench in the championship 5 years ago and it's the same now. Should have tried to sell him after the euros when we could have got a few mill. Looked promising when he came through but he's never going to make any mark on the first team now.

To be fair Campbell, Lee and Sako all chipped in with a big goal or assist that helped win or draw a game at some point in the last two seasons. This season Campbell scored the equaliser away at Hull, while Lee provided the assist for Benteke's winner at Sunderland which were both crucial. Remy was a gamble with a huge upside just that didn't pay off, but I still think was worth making considering what he could have added. Guedioura and Mutch, yeah not so much.

I do agree with the first half of what you say, however I feel as though he wasn't able to get a consistent run of games due to the amount of time he spends on the treatment table leading to lack of match fitness and also because of managers changing and not really knowing much about him. This is why I think he should be given a chance in pre season or a cup game. But I'm probably in the minority there

At the start of the 12/13 season he was but towards the end he wasn't really behind any of them apart from Garvan in some games. In my opinion he did have an impact in a lot of games and although he didn't score, I felt that he was able to have a positve effect in games with his link up play.

I remember him coming on in a game against Coventry and changing the game. He came on in the 80th odd minute, when we were 1-0 down and we won 2-1, think he set both up or at least had a hand in both. Originally posted by Shifty97
