My two penceworth Appiah - shame I liked but injury has crippled his career. We'll need a GK (back-up) CB, RB Cover (why did we get rid of Mariappa??) Central Midfield (if we get rid of Cabaye) and if Zaha goes then we'll be needing a replacment and I think we need a back up striker.

Reading these lists has reminded me we still have some real sh*te on our books. Half these players I thought had left or quit to become shelf stackers.

I ought to add though, I'd like to see us sign replacements before shipping all of these. Not asking for expensive replacements per se, if we are only looking to upgrade the squad depth, but no point shipping all those players if we just sign equally pants players.

I actually agree with keeping Campbell (and Delaney if not too selfish). Both players totally committed and devoid of destructive egos.

competely agree, Punch is just not a No10 and at times is our deepest midfielder. Playing 4-3-3 this position is crucial and has been lacking all season and most of last season too if we're honest. Benteke has been too isolated at times. I think Cabeye is on his way - his waving as he was substituted was a strong indicator that he is on his way back to France. Edited by palace99 (14 May 2017 8.27pm) Add me to that list. I've been critical of Punch for ages and for all the reasons described. He's too one sided (barely pass with his right foot), slow and too many ambitious long balls that are invariably intercepted. However since SA made him captain he's form has improved markedly. If we can't get Sakho then a CB is the No. 1 priority. Keep Kelly for cover but Delaney's time is over. Wasn't impressed with Ward this season either so competition for that spot is required too.

Because SA took him out of the position AP obstinately played him wrongly game after game - where Lula is now. exactly. AP wasted him during his time. now he's flying.

Nice to finally be able to think about this. Have a lot for big Damo, he will always give you 100% and ideally a spot on the staff would be great as I for one never thought he would make it this long with us ( was convinced he'd be the first one out the door post playoff win) Guess we're at as crossroads as a club. I'm still not Sams biggest fan, but respect the job he has done. Club spent a stack last summer and in Jan, ,so sure we're not going to be going crazy this summer. Would like a bit more experience at the back.(maybe Zabaleta) And be good to take a chance on someone in the lower leagues. Someone like Britt Assamblonga. Think our keeper situation could be a problem if not resolved sooner rather than later.

I think there is a case for keeping Delaney as the 'last choice' centre back. He's had some shockers but he's also had a few blinders as well. Lots of experience and reliable. Depends I guess if he doesn't mind sitting on the bench and keeping fit. Similarly, Speroni, you always need a spare keeper. Why not go for one you can trust and know, rather than an unknown. We should also go in for Pickford as first choice, see 'Steve' or 'Hennesey' off.

Largely who we release will be in relation to their contracts. It is the wages that are the crippling factor and not the fees. Players won't move unless they get a better offer. The wages are so high that fringe players will be happy to sit tight. I thought we did well in the last summer transfer under Pards as all the signings had real potential including Mandanda. Think we will do the same and bring in 4-5 new quality players with a few more leaving but not a major off load. Edited by Booted Eagle (15 May 2017 5.43pm)
