If your more than happy to part with a bullseye without a whimper and prefer to stay up , so be it. Think you've done dough though if you do. 2 wins coming up stick it on that. 18/1 £900 back, betfair

Seen a similar thread last week.

Want my opinion ..

Anyone backing palace to be relegated regardless of the monetary return needs a smack in the kisser

x2

the dignified don't even enter in the game

Totally agree. Never have never will. It's like betting on whether your partner will leave you or die on you. If palace are that close to your heart I've never known why this thought would even come into play. Yes it's only football but still... Never come into my thinking.

How in God's name can you stand there with everyone around you being a mixture of pissed off , upset, angry, throw in a couple of kids in tears , boos, jeers and all the assortment of emotions some of which you would be feeling yourself no doubt, but in the back of you mind be thinking well its ok because I have just picked up £950. It's just (to me) so wrong. Such a conflict.

It's like betting on when a family member is going to snuff it. Sad they've gone, but glad you've cleaned up at the bookies. I just find it weird.

I like a bet by the way, never bet against my own team though.

I kind of agree, but then I went and did it, because I thought of how much I've spent on going to games since Christmas last year, and how little return there was, and thought f**k it, I'll put my free bet on us, and a tenner on Hull.

If we go down, I'll feel guilty, but secretly its not my fault, or yours. We done our part, turning up game after game to watch a team that's really been poor at home since Christmas last year.

Of course its wrong. Its just a softening of a blow that won't come - Because we're not getting relegated Hull are, because come Sunday, that's the team that are going to get tanked.

Yeah but isn't that what life insurance is all about. That's how I see this, like life insurance. I don't want you to die, but if you do, I'm likely to do some expensive grieving... and you know I don't want to skimp on it....

Depends on the family member surely. I have some right b******s in my lot and would prefer that we stayed up more than they carry on breathing air.

How my uncle Ray has made it to 75 and is still hanging in there compus mentus is a bookies dream.

Full on alcoholic, heavy smoker, had a stroke, had cancer, both kidneys are shot to s**t and has had a form of leukaemia that's been in remission for two years.

Come off it all you 'how dare you' people.

For seasons I bet the next team to score when the clock hit 80 mins for every single Palace match and, believe me, the odds were just stupid if you knew our team. I was getting 9/2, 13/2, all sorts of silly prices.

Why was i doing it?

Because i knew that if football was played over 80 minutes in the last five years, Palace would be in Europe by now.

Does it mean I wanted the other side to score? No, of course not and since Sam arrived, I don't do those bets any more because we don't ship goals in the last ten anymore.

I put a tenner on after the Liverpool game at 200/1 I'd still rather we didnt get relegated the 2k can be forgotton about. Best casebook scenario we stop up its only a tenner ive lost.

If posters think getting a few quid in exchange for us getting relegated into the abyss are clearly supporting the wrong club.

Have you read any of the other posts on this thread? It appears not. The point is, we don't want to get relegated but we'll have some monies if we do.

I have some money on @ 20/1. I very much want us to stay up.

Let's not play that silly 'I'm more of a fan than you' game.
