You're quite mad. And you joined this forum four months ago.

As a newcomer to HOL myself, I don't think time spent registered on HOL is relevant but time spent watching Palace certainly is. But agree, the poster who said it's the worst season ever is mad.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

This is indeed a terrible season and that will be two seasons in a row where we have under performed. We have not only stagnated but actually regressed; 11th, 10th, 15th (+ FA Cup final) and (probably) 17th is not a great trajectory. If we stay up (I think we probably will), I nevertheless think a full season with Sam will see progress.

Nevertheless, it is no way in hell our worst ever season. I don't remember Mullery's reign (too young!) but I do remember Stockport, Hillsborough, 2x Administrations, premier league relegations, Peter Taylor's reign etc. Hell, most of the time I have supported this team we have been 2nd tier or, at best, a yo-yo club. It is a little frustrating that we haven't quite stabilised ourselves in the premiership yet however. It is easy to blame Pardew for this but it's too simple to scapegoat.

We have not been good enough over the course of a whole season and dare I say it will be playing Championship football next season. Today showed that. No amount of injuries can excuse that performance today. I for one just hope that this will be a wake up call for Parish and realization that he should have sacked Pardew after the cup final! Also it will hopefully stop him hanging around with his so called mate Brighty and that fake, Judas,so called legend Ian Wright and he will start to see what it really takes to make this club successful! Cannot wait for this season to end!

Then you can follow some sport you may know something about. I doubt you have ever been to Selhurst on a freezing cold January night watching teams managed by Francis or Taylor, nearly losing the will to live.
This season has been fantastic, we are competing in one of the most exciting leagues in the world.

Pardew ripped the soul and fight out of this team, with our defensive side of the game probably the worst we have seen in years. What made it doubly bad was the amount of money we spent this season. Not the worst season, but certainly one of the most frustrating, hopeless and anger-inducing seasons for me for sure.

With the squad we have we should be top half how have Watford burnley Bournemouth west ham all ended up above us its been a crap season none of them sides should of ended up above us its been a shocking season it needs to improve next season and I never want us to be in a relegation battle again all the squad has underperformed and I think its going to get even hoarded next week when we entertain hull who haven't won away all season so I'm not confident at all about next weekend match as I've said before we will be relying on other teams to make us safe starting with sunderland again next weekend

For me, the money we have spent, combined with the fact that we have shown we are actually a good team when we want to be but then suffer appalling results against s***e teams has indeed made this a frustrating season. I have been saying for the last few seasons how close we are to being a consistently good PL side. But I am beginning to sound like Liverpool fans who say 'this'll be our year' every season...

Are you one of these new supporters, who have a feeling of entitlement?

I think this has been the worst season ever for palace and with the squad we have should be alot higher in the league so it's definitely Bern the worst season ever by a million miles

While I don't agree with the poster, having read it again I don't think he meant the worst season ever. I think he meant that with the squad that we have we should not be where we are. Where as when we have been bad we were where we should be.

It's not been an easy season to watch, I've been to most of the home games and Leicester away.

The game against Sunderland was a low point. I know we didn't play well, but what I've always enjoyed about Palace is the support even when the chips are down, and a significant proportion of fans turned on the players that day.

The whole season has been made worthwhile so far, for me, with the win against Arsenal. When the second goal went in, I was transported to another level of joy that I have only previously experienced with recreational drugs. It was amazing and the best Palace victory for me as a fan at the ground, since we beat Liverpool in the semi-final at Villa Park.

I feel that we may well lose against Hull, and they may even beat Spurs on the last day. We may well get beat by Man U which means we could go down. Such is life. I will keep on singing my heart out either way.

There was certainly no entitlement to commas and full stops. Reading that post made my head ache.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham
