I thought I saw the ref pick up two lighters and five coins. Not acceptable, we are probably going to get a fine or some other form of punishment.

I think if it was Zaha that got hit away to burnley people would be singing a different tune.

COYP

If we'd thrown notes instead of coins we might have got that penalty.

Shame it was our only decent shot of the match

Only hit him on the head though so probably would have been deflected over - needed to be in the lunchbox.

Hopefully that was his payment for that s**t performance.

Over 100 feet, to score a direct hit, with a plastic lighter, and you managed to follow the entire trajectory...yeah right

Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing!

I was in row27 block b. The orange PLASTIC lighter was thrown approx 10 rows down on the edge of block b and c. Looped 20ft in the air with a direct hit on the Burnley players head. Supporter a t*** for throwing it but pathetic reaction from the player.

Apparently Phil 'the power' Taylor and Ian Botham are being questioned.

Stupid thing to do allowing the ref and player to make a big deal of it.

I saw the lighter in the air and it must have come from about a third or half way up the stand, either block B or C. Nowhere near 100 feet and too far back to be from the HF, but please don't let this be a reason not to slate them.

I assume that there is CCTV so it should be easy to identify the culprit. Perhaps it was the West Ham fan or his Dutch mates over for the game?

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Not missing the point

you are

The point that i made was that it was a plastic lighter that bounced of his head and the precious lamb went down like he had been hit by a brick

play acting

And also why did the old bill not step in and do him for inciting a riot or behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace

not once did i say that it was alright to throw things on the pitch
What i said was that the Burnley player was a melt and was play acting

And they call us southern softees
Do me a favour

Yes you are! No excuse for throwing anything. At best it gives the opposition players ammunition to play to it. At worst it is moronic and unacceptable, a player could easily be seriously injured (if hit in the eye). What would you say if this happened to Wilf?

Unfortunately this isn't the first time an opposing player has been hit by an object. Coloccini had a coin hit him for Newcastle in 2015 and Rooney in 2014 with a lighter and bottle also found. Fan was arrested for the latter. This might happen from yesterdays game.

If you can't handle the banter, go watch the Snooker. Only a moron throws stuff or feels there is any justification for doing it. Poor souls being goaded, Bless.

And only a fool would run up to an angry crowd and goad them not justifying any throwing of objects just stating a fact.
