Zaha's behaviour encourages officials to ignore him. He needs to stop being so animatedly childish. He plays the victim too much and the refs are sick of him. He goes to ground too easy and it becomes the 'boy who cried wolf' syndrome - he gets ignored when he actually does get genuinely fouled. This is an aspect of his game he needs to fix.

This^^. Reminds me of Andy Murray in his moaning.

Because you are usually right I took a look at the video. Quite correct, it was a pen.

Hmm, pots and kettles old boy. In the game I wasn't convinced one way or another. Looking at it from a closer vantage point the defender clearly went through Wilf to get to the ball. I am sure you would agree. Shall I send you a link?

I have seen it a few times and each time I have concluded it is NOT a penalty.
The referee had to make a split second decision without the benefit of any replays.

Wilf gets nothing because he is fouled so often that he ends up with a reputation for 'going down easily'. He is so clever with the ball and dribbles more than any other player his close balance means he is knocked over by foul tackles. That's his game, all too easy for refs to take the easy option, wont change until Wilf plays for a top team when the pressure will be on the referee to make the decisions in his favour.

I agree with the general thrust of this post relating to his going to ground.

of course you do,,,,so you suggest wilf should never go down, therefore never getting a free kick for anything? Said before, he would need to be shot to get a penalty and even then he would more likely be booked

and how thick is it putting the away supporters in the ear of the linesman ?

my argument for our poor home statistics compared to our results on the road.

f***ing surprise surprise Willo takes the officials side again....I would say that has got to be the worst performance by a set of officials at selhurst this year....and there has been many to choose from.

always a Norwood boy, where ever I live.

Anyone who reckons that performance by Madley and his assistants was even vaguely decent is either delusional or a sockpuppet.

NOT in my book.
I repeat - Zaha was very theatrical before he hit the ground.
If an oppostion player had got a penalty for a similar incident,we would all be in a 'Hissy Fit'.

As usual, Total and utter bollocks. The way he goes down is irrelevant, but if the ref does take that into account, he's a cheat. It was a foul, it was a foul in the penalty area, therefore it was a penalty. Defending useless incompetent bottle jobs seems to be all you ever do.

The only reason it wasn't a penalty is that if we had won that match the big one on TV in two weeks' time would have been moot. Can't have that.
