He does not select him as he has had a knee injury since Sam joined. Steve is in pain, not playing, frustrated as hell and home sick. A full recovery, game time and a rise of confidence and maybe he will want to stay and we will want him to. He's not on our injury list anymore and has made at least one appearance for the U23s. All the signs are that his Palace micro-career is well and truly over, which is probably for the best for both parties.

Been a massive anti-climax of a transfer. Was really excited when he signed and it's all been quite disappointing.

I believe that Allardyce will view Hennessey as his No1 and will look for someone to put pressure on him.Problem is that not too many top keepers will wish to start as "No 2". I disagree. There's no point bringing in a number 2 goalkeeper. If we ambitious then begovic is the standard we should target.

You may be right but do we really need to have that discussion again on the gap between well and match fit? He has been injured for quite a while and has not been out of the croc room that long. He's been back in training since early February and played for the U23s over a month ago. Exactly how long does it take to achieve match fitness for a goalkeeper? Speroni seems to manage OK whenever he's called upon.

I think that there is more to it than that as "injury" is used to cover up a multitude of sins and I think that something has gone on behind the scenes that we don't know about

Still need a viable #2 keeper, even if one considers Hennessey to be "doing well" (I'd say doing better, personally)... For me this is one of the big priorities to sort out in the Summer.
