I believe the same ref has now done the last 3 Palace v Liverpool games. Strange to tell, he gave Bentekkers a pen against us when he was still in a red shirt.

It was a bad tackle and of course it came straight after we had made our last substitution. I was quite worried that 10 men wouldn't hold out for those last minutes, but then to see him come back on, swop with Campbell and play on as a hobbling centre forward while Campbell went back in defence was a mark of what the team has become - a real team playing like one where they all back each other up and show some bottle.
A complete metamorphosis from three months ago.

Agreed,it just shows how far we have come under a good manager,Sam,after the chaotic shambles created by the last incumbent!!
Brilliant result.

Poor MOTD coverage you would think they could get a camera on the game somewhere near the pitch its only for the long sighted.

And the 'pundits' revisiting in great detail Liverpool angst over a foul so minor you would need a microscope to see any contact.

Its a great story winning these 3 games yet they whinge on about how dreadful Arse and Pool are until they score a goal.

Germans and Aussies are really bad losers it is national disaster losing at football or cricket.

Watched El Classico after our game & was impressed that the ref had the balls to send Ramos off at the Bernabeu - especially as he didn't make much contact with Messi at all. Clear red due to intent etc.

It's a shame Mariner (and many of his colleagues) don't seem to have enough bottle when it comes to such situations when it's the big boys committing the offence in the EPL.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

They had plenty of guys at ground level. Must have just been filming upskirts in the crowd.

I think if our player was Grujic and got a 'Red', HOL would be criticising the referee.
Incidentally, Grujic was Klopp's first signing at Liverpool.

Excellent performance from Palace.

Grujic must be given a retrospective ban for his horrifying challenge on Tomkins.

A blatant straight red. Disgraceful tackle.

No chance of restropective action because the ref gave a yellow.

It should have been a straight red and when you compare it to the red card for that Hull player on Saturday it's a joke. Big team bias once again !!

Teams often step up their game when down to ten. We won so I'd not change anything. Retrospective red would be good though, even though it won't happen.

Sadly, Big Sam thinks Tomkins will be out for some considerable time. That was in his interview for Palace's members' site with Terry Byfield. Sam was furious about the tackle.

If Sky Sports News don't mention that tackle in their Monday morning ref watch feature and just gloss over it, you then do wonder what games these people are watching. Is it because the bloke's name wasn't Joey Barton or Lee Cattermole?

That was Grujic's sixth appearance this season...and four of those have been as a sub...and he's been booked three times!!! I don't know what the other two were for but that's quite a strike rate!!!

If a Palace player had done that to a Liverpool player old Jurgen Klapptrap would have gone mad on the touchline! And because he's seen as a likeable passionate character his reaction to the tackle would remain in the edit.
