Wow, is it even worth counting the votes for this one?

It could be a strange one. It'll all be about Brexit, which means you could see a lot of voters switching sides on the single issue, based on manifestos for Brexit strategy and policy.

For example, the Lib Dems could put a second referendum as their key policy, which could arguably garner a massive support, if they are the only party offering that (given 49% of the country voted to stay).

Labour might present a manifesto on the EU, that appeals far more to the population than its current leader does

Depends on whether Corbyn can get the party to tow the line or whether they finally want to get rid of him. A general election is the only way it is ever going to happen as it stands.

Corbyn's not such a moron that he'd vote with her. Vote against, saying its not the time (which it isnt), then if his mps vote against him, expel them for being backstabbing c'nts of the highest order.

I haven't done the maths or analysis so genuinely don't know the answer, but the 49% relates to the national population (well, the population that voted) but a general election is voted for on a constituency basis. So I don't know whether that actually dilutes or enhances that "49%" figure we're quoting.

Another five years of blue bullsh1t and brexit bollocking-up to look forward to.

Love it, a left winger throwing in the towel on the day the election is called.

I dont normally trust the conservatives to take care of the workers, however, i did like her speeach on her first day, saying she wanted an inclusive society, however, shes disappointed me ever since, but cant see anybody voting against her , so more of the same dumbing down for next 5 years im afraid! unless she comes good with inclusive thing that is!

How depressing, a general election that virtually no one wants.

Suspect this will be one of the lowest turnouts on record.

London Labour vote will split off to Lib Dems. Good for Tories.

Northern Labour vote will never, ever vote for Corbyn. Good for Tories.

SNP currently unpopular. Good for Tories.

Corbyn. Good for Tories.

Economy doing pretty decent. Good for Tories.

Hard to see anything other than a complete landslide.

LOL!

We have the worst wage falls since 2008 of any OECD country. How can that possibly be seen as economic prosperity unless you're ridiculously rich?

I am still at a loss to see why anyone would vote Tory. They were elected in 2010 saying they'd bring stability. Since then we have had our most tumultuous decade since the war, with Brexit, Scottish independence probably, NI independence almost assured, and a recession round the corner as businesses f*ck off to Europe. Meanwhile the average worker's being screwed, the young have almost no opportunities and public provisions are being destroyed. I think IF there is an election, they'll come under scrutiny and the people will see the Emperor has no clothes.

You might see a big slide from UKIP to Tory as well, at least for this one.

Northern Labour will vote Labour simply because it's Labour, they could put a dog up.

Surely this paves the way for Corbyn to go. He will lose the election and a leader usually steps down after a defeat .
