As I've said once to you already in this thread, it's not s*** job top trumps. Stick to the topic man who wasn't going to post over Easter. This is why I often ignore you. I gave an intention that I was signing off and wished you a Happy Easter. You interpret that as my immediate withdrawal for the whole of Easter! No wonder you continually get hold of the wrong end of the stick on everything discussed on here! Edited by Hoof Hearted (16 Apr 2017 11.32am)

Not sure what you actually do for a living...but it sounds like you got a job you don't like so you attack another profession that appears better in specific areas. As others have pointed out...you have a lot of misconceptions about teachers. I don't think it is the worst job in the world...and a lot in the profession can be very short sighted to the problems in other industries...but you don't seem to have a firm grasp of what the job is actually like. Investing your own money - just the £x thousand that is essential to train Originally posted by Hoof Hearted
NONE... they get paid even if little johnny doesn't pass his exams. Try being a self employed IFA Mr G.... a teacher's life is a doddle mate.

Investing your own money - just the £x thousand that is essential to train It didn't take much of a leap to guess that I was an IFA.... but now retired, after a successful career as it happens. I embarked upon this comparison of jobs because I'm fed up with Teachers fcuking moaning about their lot and wanted to show them that life is not beer and skittles for everyone else and that they should rein in their complaining all the time.. Teachers are very well paid, with good pension benefits and over generous holiday entitlement compared to the majority of most working people...not to mention the comfort of a guaranteed income paid every month whatever and a warm comfortable environment to work in. But no... they're always fcuking moaning.... "What do we want... blah blah blah.... when do we want it... NOW! Give it a rest!

I have to admit...people moaning about the jobs(teachers included) annoy me. If you don't like your job/envy another...go and do that for a living. Hoof...as it is Easter...I would suggest upon your rebirth you go and train as a teacher...with all the holiday, warm classrooms and guaranteed money you'll love it!

Surrey old chap... you sound like an okay kind of guy. As it happens I had great respect for many of the teachers that taught me.... in particular Dr Whittle coached me through the minefield of calculus to pass my Pure Mathematics A level and Dr Grace got me through Applied Maths. I won a place at 2 Uni's but chose to go into financial services to train as an actuary, but found it very hard and boring! Both those teachers were nice people as well as brilliant at their jobs. Happy Easter to you!

This is a gold dust example of how DfE works from the ivory towers and can't see what is happening at grassroots level. It chooses to drive a coach and horse through State education to concentrate upon conversion to academies; free schools and grammars. Terrific interviewing from Charlie Stayt:
