Jeeze. 2 wins and a draw away from safety and we are squabbling like children. We can afford to lose 5 and still stay up. Hull and Swansea can't. The Swansea v Tottenham result was massive. Pray that West Ham an Man City win and Swansea will need 4 points from 6 regardless of the result against Arsenal.

"Brighton" and "coming" should not be used together in the same phrase. Ugh!!

I don't really blame anyone. He wanted to play football. I was with a Cheltenham fan, arsenal fan, wolves fan and Wrexham fan at the game and they were saying they thought he probably wouldn't play loads in the Prem next season. One described him as being like Darren Huckerby (Great in the the championship but not quiet good enough in the Prem) I thought this was the start of a joke...

Btw it hurt watching ffs score with a composed finish. He won't find that as easy against Man U as against QPR. He's not getting any younger and he's not Benteke.

We obviously cannot foresee the future but if the worst does happen, as it could, and we go down and Brighton come up, then they would gain the bragging rights for a couple of months. So what? If we went down with the squad we have then what realistic chance would something like Brighton have of surviving? The Premiership gets harder every season for promoted sides. Even if they dumped the whole promotion winning side and spent zillions wouldn't matter. There needs to be a degree of consistency to succeed. Newcastle might hold it together, having only spent one season down, but Brighton? By Christmas the bragging rights would have been restored to their rightful ownership. And that's the worst case scenario! The best is we survive and thrash them twice, which is much more likely.

So, they're coming for us. Premiership ready. Right. Interestingly, next season they will suddenly become championship ready...

I was terrified of the prospect of ever playing them under Pardew, but with Allardyce at the helm I say bring it on. They'll be struggling at the bottom of the table and they'll be exactly the sort of team Allardyce knows how to take points from. We've looked very organised and very spirited, and I think in that sort of high-stakes, high-passion game our side won't get mugged off.

Let them come up and have a go. They will need to spend big to stay up. I've watched them a few times this season and haven't been overly impressed with them at all. If Murray is there main striker and players like Sidwell, Bruno and Dunk are going to be starting next year then they are in big trouble. The gulf between Championship and Premiership is enormous. Even they couldn't be deluded enough not to see that can they??
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

But they would only be average. Then it's all about signing players same as Holloway did, attracting a plethora of journeymen. Bring it on.

Apparently (according to NSC, quoting Bloom) they're not planning on spending big on players or wages and no journeyman or marquee signings, which suggests that they're going to try and go with what they've got and should (hopefully) see them relegated by January. I get the impression that Bloom sees this as a chance to get his £250m back in one hit rather than a prolonged stay in the PL. I hope we do stay up so that we can take them to school, as usual.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |
