With respect, there isn't much to remember or want to remember from this season baring the last few wins. Massive missed opportunity. I hear you, there's not been much on the pitch to rave about but I think there are some postives, as long as we stay up. We had what I think is our best year in terms of transers and now it appears that we have a manager that knows how to use them and today was a historic win. We have a much better team now than previous seasons in the Prem. If we stay up we can make good progress next season. It may turn out that this is indeed a transitional year (who said that..) I'm just glad we have a manager that knows what he's doing and there's no threat that a top six club or England will offer him a job. At least not for a while anyway.

true, but i don't want us to transition too far away from our core values which appear to have happened over the last year - american tours, mega bucks contacts etc

If more officials did what Pawson did with stopping his watch for delays, maybe everyone would get the hint and not try to waste time. The original 7 minutes matched up with my watch and then adding three more for the two stoppages after the 90 were spot on. In fact, had WH but that final goal kick in play a bit sooner Pawson would have blown full time there and then.

We are the biggest spenders and the wages will follow. It's a long way from the idea of using our academy to grow the club model. With our new investors, American tours will be a feature. On the plus side I think I read somewhere that we have one of the biggest fan bases in the States.

True, but, i think that was the added investment (players, tours etc) to bump us up, keep us afloat, i hope now, with premiership stability hopefully confirmed and continued, we now focus on local roots and talent and don't have to break the budget again

I can't remember the actual stat though.

Was it all these came from a ten mile radius of Croydon.? Blackman, Clyne, Gomez, Chris Smalling, Ryan Bertrand, Puncheon, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ben Watson, Ibe, Moses and Zaha

You don't think in recent years we went a bit crazy getting players in and panic buys? Or perhaps invested heavily in one period instead of over a sustainable period of time?

I'm not a Yank - I just live here - but I've recruited a fair number by telling everyone we are "America's Team." Our colours are red, white and blue, we have the Crystals and an eagle that flies down before games. That usually goes down well over here.

I feel like there's a couple more floating around somewhere.
