It was a foul. Maybe even a yellow, but never a red.

The Watford manager is just trying to distract everyone from how dirty their team were.

Kabul's 30m run to body check Zaha was far worse. He had no intention of ever playing the ball. That should have been a red.

However, his stupidity lead to a free kick where there biggest thug score an own goal. Couldn't have turned out better.

Did anyone else notice Deeney storm straight down the tunnel at the end of the game?

It was PRODL who body checked Wilf.

I gotta think that yellow and red cards even out over the season ... so many times I have wanted one of our players to smash one of the opposition only for them to pull out of the tackle 'cos they are nice blokes.
Then the other player a little later gets his studs in on Wilf and takes him out of the game.
I say a little bit more claret taking from our players is a healthy response to some of the stuff that Wilf gets.

I thought he was lucky not to get a yellow, and give away a free kick. I think it looked better than it was, I don't think on the replay he got the ball at all, but it did look like he did.

Justice though for all the missed fouls on Wilf all season, that we then went down the other end and set Deeney up to put a great header away.

To be fair it was actually a very good foul (had we not have scored from the resulting free kick that is) He took a card for the team as Wilf was away. Would have no complaints if I saw one of ours do the same in a similar position.

The only thing strange about it was Wilf's reaction after the foul, expected him to lose his sh*t but they just shook hands and cracked on.

A little late but I was just watching the highlights again and I have to say, I really enjoyed that tackle. In respects of setting the league on fire he hasn't, and it's absolutely fantastic. Ive watched him closely and he literally does do a fantastic job, simple little tackles and touches that go unnoticed, but us fans are noticing him very much so. What a great signing!! Great to see Selhurst back to its vocal best also.

It does look worse when seen from other angles and in slow motion. He is off the ground and high.

Should it have been a red though? No I don't think so. Should it have been a foul and (probably) a yellow card. Absolutely.

But I don't give the teeniest, tiniest flying fcuk. It wasn't given.

And yes it turned out to be the crucial incident in the game. But who is to say that the Wilf foul in the first half when he's shoved over either just inside or just outside the box wouldn't have been the key incident had it been given (as it should)?

It was a poor game but we had the one outstanding player on the pitch so we - if anyone - deserved to win.

Deeney should have been off for kicking Luka in retaliation as they went back after the goal. The ref spoke to him but strangely didn't even book him so did he actually see it?
