My favourite and most consistent Palace player
BUT
Big Sam saw something that no other Palace supporter did and bought Luca , which gives Cabaye and Punch a more creative role
So , in this system even a fit Jim wont make the side
Talk of dropping Punch for him is nonsense , Punch is creative and brings balance
Also dropping Dann , another Sam masterstroke that none of us saw, and in doing so Tompkins now looks a better player

If we stay up , which it looks increasingly like we will
We will be comfortable mid table / top 10 next year under Sam

I love Jimmy Mac as well and think he is fantastic. But what a stoke of genius by Big Sam to be the first manager to create a strong PL bench for us. Not by signing players that don't mind sitting on the bench and might make it(Mutch, Ledley ect). But by replacing the players we all thought were irreplaceable, with more effective players and dropping the irreplacables to the bench and creating that much needed squad depth that way.

General , Pulis signed Ledley and he went straight into the team.
Agree though with Mutch.
Sams transfer record so far excellent.

I don't know where you get the "no other Palace supporter saw" bit as many of us were shouting out for a capable defensive midfielder to replace Jedinak although I don't suppose that many of us had ever heard of Milli Vanilli until Sam bought him.

What did come as a surprise to many of us was that it was Jimmy Mac who made way for him

The clever thing behind Jimmy making way is that he can come in and cover any of the 3 currently playing. Those 3 probably aren't as flexible or as good in other midfield roles as they are in their current roles.

Sam has probably been tempted to do this because of Jimmy having long term injury concerns and generally overplaying. Sam is aware of fitness stats so I wouldn't be surprised if he intended this if possible and wants him back and ready in a few weeks for the last 8 or 9 matches because he will be needed.

With 7 games in April, Mcarthur and Cabaye are clearly going to need to be rotated, particularly with Cabaye visibly tiring each game after 70 mins or so. Rather than say his absence on Saturday was because Allardyce doesn't rate him, I would say it shows he know how important Macarthur is to the squad. Rather than play him for 20 minutes or so on Saturday, therefore giving no reason for him to pull out of the Scotland squad, he now will have a fully rested Mcarthur and Cabaye for the ensuing month. Shrewd.

If it wasn't McArthur, it would have to have been either Cabaye or Puncheon. Signing Millvojevic has allowed Sam to move Cabaye further forward, and in combination with Puncheon, it does seem to be working. As has already been pointed out on another thread, by making bold decisions like dropping McArthur as a starter, Sam has created a strong bench.
He was absent Saturday and has pulled out of the Scotland squad so I assume he's injured anyway.

Willo apparently had "sources" whom informed "him" that Milivojevic comes "from" Serbia and he'll "murder 'ya".
