This post has been merged from a topic called 'Karanka Sacked' by kenbarr Really hope Pardew doesn't go there. When he took us over he inherited a defence that was still well drilled from Pulis' reign but an attack that needed freeing, which is exactly his strength. It was only a year later that we saw the last traces of that defensive discipline finally ebb away when we began our woeful 2016 and it's taken Sam a couple of months to undo the damage that was done by Pardew's defensive neglect. The parallels with Boro are clear, they have the 5th tighest defence in the league after Chelsea, Spurs, City and United but also have a severely blunt attack. I fear that should he take over there, the results could be similar.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Karanka Sacked' by kenbarr I hope whoever takes over has the same success rate as BFS did when he took over for us. No wins in 10 or something like that which should mean they will be relegated.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Karanka Sacked' by kenbarr Wasn't he supposed to be the next Mourinho at some point having been under the Slecual Ones tutelage as a coach? Might help us that Mourinho wouldn't want to see an old friend screwed over, but I'm clutching. I seem to remember a time when Boro were one of United's bogey teams.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Karanka Sacked' by kenbarr You think 35 points is enough to stay up? I really doubt it even if our GD is possibly in our favor. Originally posted by CambridgeEagle
History suggests changing manager at this late stage is rarely effective. We need 10 points probably so just need to worry about getting those otherwise we will probably be joining Boro in the Championship next season.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Karanka Sacked' by kenbarr Potentially bad for us, depending how long they take to get a new man in. Swansea and Hull have benefited massively from managerial changes at the bottom, Leicester have done the same (so far). We have to hope the same won't be true for Boro!

We have to hope the same won't be true for Boro! the issue is they have the Players with the likes of Nolito et al to correct their issues. It's not like they need a whole new playing squad to improve..

Another ridiculous sacking where previous achievements are thrown in the bin Their squad is just not good enough, not Karanka's fault

Pointless sacking ... but now they can appoint Pardew to take them to new depths.

Another ridiculous sacking where previous achievements are thrown in the bin Their squad is just not good enough, not Karanka's fault There have been ongoing issues for a while. He has walked or threatened to walk twice. Player issues, not happy with his tactics, he has openly criticised the board. It was inevitable, the only odd thing is like some of the other recent sackings, the timing.
