Mrs Sturgeon is elected and has to go through Scottish Parliament before applying for a referendum she is in no way a dictator.

Of course May can just say "No, you had one a couple of years ago, and we now have bigger fish to fry. Take a number and join the queue"

Please please let her have her f***ing referendum. Anything to stop Sturgeon's constant banging on and on and on and on...

If she wins, she can drift off with her country into obscurity. By the way, good luck trying to join the EU. They'll need it. If she loses, it'll be curtains for her position and she can herself drift off into obscurity, no doubt still shrieking the words "Referendum, EU, referendum, EU...".

As others have said, it'll be a win-win

I read somewhere that her nickname at university was "Seaweed", because not even the tide would take her out!

I think that if the SNP want another referendum, then they need to set out a highly-detailed plan of how they propose do thing post independence. If that means relying upon other nations and companies, then there needs to be a written statement by those parties to honour these agreements.

It won't happen, because they have no plan just a pull on the country's nationalism.

One of the first things would be that they would need to adopt the Euro, unless they can come up with their own currency in double quick time. regardless of either, they would still be in the EU and therefore helping prop up the southern european countries.

It's all well saying that we want make own decisions, but when it starts hitting people in the pocket, they'll soon chance their stance.

Should the SNP win, which is far from clear, please can someone tell me how this a bad thing for England and Wales?

The Scots need to think about this very clearly and not let pride persuade them to do something detrimental to their long term prospects.

It's far worse for Scotland. If they vote for independence, what currency do they use? And do they really think that they'll just be able to walk into the EU?

If this is a game of poker, they've got a piss-awful hand.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham
