I enjoy seeing them lose and fail but can't honestly say I hate them. So it would be soooooo much fun if they choked now. Bit I wouldn't care THAT much. But life is too short to randomly & genuinely hate thousands of people who happen support their local team. (And let's not do the whole 'they all support big PL clubs' malarkey. No doubt some do, same as at Palace. So what? At least they're not sat in armchairs)
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

I am old school, Millwall are our rivals, Brighton, could not care less, its a a false rivalry, suits them, because apart from us they have no so called rivalry, i personally think all the london clubs are our rivals before we look to the south coast, if they earn promotion, good luck to them

Millwall couldn't care less about us; their rivalry is with West Ham. "Old school"? The Brighton rivalry goes back the best part of 50 years and has a traceable history. As I've already said, "false rivalries" are those manufactured by dint of geographical accidents.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

No way! Mainly because I have a bit feeliing that we will go down, but if we stay up, I still don't want them to come up but on the other hand it would guarantee us 6 points the next season

I have never felt a rivalry with Millwall, felt hatred towards us from them, as they do most teams! But Palace in all my recollection have never taken a group to meet Millwall toe for toe, but Brigton, yes we have, it has been organised and just random but always together and always on the lookout. We were at times just simply focused on one thing, at that was to get them and Visa versa.... I Never seen scenes with Palace like I have Vs Brighton. Millwall, well they are just Millwall! Yes we have had many fights over the 70s and 80s and yes we have been attacked and well beaten (LUTON some time back)and we have done some pretty outrageous jobs too, (Arsenal away), but Brighton was a gurenteed fight, a big one too!
The Red and Blue never leaves our Palace empire,! |

I'm another in the couldn't care less camp. I agree with Ian Holloway that they are just another team and I just can't be bothered with this manufactured rivalry There's no real geographical reason for the rivalry, we're not in the same county let alone the same city, there's no deep routed historical reason, no trading rivalries between the areas, no religious differences, pure and simple it's football. A genuine footballing rivalry based on the fact that we used to play each other a lot and had managers happy to stoke up the fires of rivalry. We even changed our nicknames to annoy each other, the Glaziers becoming Eagles and the Dolphins flipping to Seagulls.

Before Crawley Palace were the nearest team to Brighton so the rivalry for them is so much more intense, look at their website they have so many anti Palace threads one thread with 250k views! I know that younger Palace fans might not get it but as an old school fan who went to the Gallstone and fought with them will hate them with a passion for all eternity!

There won't be a thread like that linked below on the fan site of any other club in London or elsewhere:
