They have, i believe, all the matches going on in front of them and they skim view as best they can over the 90.

In Purley-speak I made one of my all too rare sortees into the provinces yesterday and I may confirm that Sakho was indeed a beast, Luka was great esp 1st half stopping WBA, less visible in 2nd half but only cos we were attacking more, but did still manage to thread Townsend in with a peach of a pass inside their last defender, Ward is struggling - was better a a year or two back when we were backs to the wall, more controlled slower possession and he looks a bit clueless, and Benteke has been under-rated, he gets asked to do an awful lot of donkey work but the way he instantly brings the ball down and can lay it off with a trick is pure class, it's a shame that we don't use those attributes of his more, not just putting the ball in front of his hefty nut - and Townsend should have played him in but he scored the 2nd goal so he is forgiven, but Tekkers pozzy on the far post gave Andros more vital space.

Outrageous. "Cos" is not "Purley-speak"!! You must try harder next time. One has however heard "Tekkers" and "pozzy" still occasionally muttered near the gates of Pirlee, or "Purley" as it has more recently (and some might say 'a touch crassly') been dubbed.

Regards,
from Purley.

Having been born in Purley Hospital, I reluctantly have to mourn its decline.

It wasn't that long ago you could enjoy the finest of hamburgers flipped by Julian Speroni himself!

For some unknown reason AP seemed to think Cabaye could function as a defensive midfield player. No wonder we're seeing benefits now he's playing in his natural position.

Revisionist view. Cabaye came in demanding to be played further back, not the other way around. Pardew deserves criticism for pandering to what YC wanted when it didn't seem to be working, but he was playing where he wanted to be played.

Thought Wilf and Townsend were very good. But they are able to do better because of the greater confidence in the back 5 that Luka and Sakho have bought. If there are two more influential January signings I would be very surprised.

Banstead is the new Purley I suppose.

Where do the residents of West Purley go? Local shopping areas are a tip.

Purley is almost one big car park now with take always and charity shops etc.

There was a pass against Everton to Remy.

One in the first half last week to Wilf.

The assist today.

Three examples of what Cabaye has that no other player in the squad does. The weight of his passing is just sublime at times.

Totally agree

West Purley is there such a place? I thought it was called Coulsdon and they all now shop in Aldi, after the sad demise of the Red Lion.

West Purley is the name given to the area past the library halfway up and left. All those private roads with houses costing a few million now and large enough for flats holding 15 homes which is eventually what they will be. Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt were neighbours there.

It isn't Coulsdon although there is an electronic gated entrance to these private roads on the other side by the road that runs from Coulsdon to Wallington.

Still a Waitrose in Coulsdon and a large food delivery distribution centre at the bottom of Rickman Hill. There's also Ocado so no reason for housewives to leave the house. Even the high stamina personal trainers do house visits with a free bonus hour although tips are probably more than their hourly rate anyway.

I know where you mean, I thought it was Posh Purley around there. I still think they like to get down to Aldi for a bargain.

Not forgetting that our very own Wilfred Zaha lives in Purley (Central) in Ron's old house.
