NO - I have always stated that referees make mistakes - Do you expect them to officate at a game of 90+ minutes when they have to make many judgement calls and get them 100% right in a fast moving game when instant decisions have to be made ? All about angles etc and often a referee doesn't have the best view if players are in his line of sight.OK for all of us who seen umpteen replays from different angles.

You're missing or avoiding the point. When they do cost us a game you still say we can't criticise them. Us winning does not excuse an incredibly poor performance by the officials. Nor should it.

Motd unanimous that the foul on Jimmy Mac was a pen and astonished that the ref booked him instead. Also thought the early foul on Wilf was a pen too.

Oh look, here comes Willo gallantly to the defence of another referree who has delivered yet another absolutely f***ing abysmal set of decisions. Just seen that analysed on MoTD and they showed very clearly the positions of the officials with the ref having a fine view of the incident, which completely blows that excuse out of the water. Again, I didn't need replays, different angles, or several goes to see that it was a penalty: it was obvious at first sight. My eight-year-old was calling these incidents correctly at first sight FFS. So your argument that this was a difficult decision to make is bollocks. And are you somehow suggesting that s*** refereeing is acceptable when it doesn't end up affecting the outcome? If you really believe that then you're loonier than I thought. BTW what about the pen Wilf should have had in the fifth minute, the so-called handball against Benteke, the offside that obviously wasn't? Face facts, Willo. The standard of refereeing in the Premiership is a f***ing disgrace.

Maybe because if he'd done his job correctly we'd have had at least one penalty, a chance to extend our lead & put the game out of reach. As it was, we had a nervous finish defending a single goal lead where one mistake could've cost us 2 points and further dented confidence. Every report I've seen & pundit I've heard agrees he was awful yet you seem to think everything is ok as we won. It's highly likely that we'll be "team most likely to feel aggrieved " (yet again) and "stonewall decision of the week" after ref review which, to be frank, I'm getting bored with.

The Referee does NOT have this advantage and forms a judgement from his sight angle in a fast moving scenario, not forgetting the fact that he has to be virtually instananeous in his decision making. All very easy reviewing incidents in the comfort of a TV studio and several times at that. As for so called s..e refereeing being acceptable, after every game his/her performance is 'Forensically' analysed in the 'Corridors of power' and they will form a judgement as to his/her performance on the day. What I am saying is that it is somewhat befuddling that here we are winning a vital game and the focus is on the referee's performance.
