when you look at what they have done since his arrival in 96 i can see why fans are upset, they seem to stall at exactly the same point every year. That said, fa cup wins, title wins and 7 succesive years in the CL isnt too bad a haul. alot of clubs havent had that and surely would love to be in their shows/boots? I think Arsenal have qualified for the CL nearer 20 consecutive years.

I find his voice so boring that I have to switch it off if he comes on TalkSh!te when I'm driving, in case he puts me to sleep. Snore.

there are parallels between the arsenal and us. Players not up for the fight, players not showing up, players frowning and scowling at each other... the difference is the quality of the players....but the mindset of capitulation looks similar

My view of what will happen. The fans and press will keep on about Wenger being 'past it' and having done all he can, and they'll end up appointing a new manager. Arsenal will fail to qualify for the champions league, under the next manager, who will be sacked, and replaced. The new manager will fail to even make the European cup places. Arsenal will spend 5-10 years being the next Liverpool. Fans will blame everyone else, as will the media, but they'll forget their role in actually f**king their own clubs achievements in the arse simply because other clubs do better. A club on a par with Everton or Spurs really in terms of size and prospects, largely punching higher because they have an excellent manager with a talent for getting good players in young, and income from the champions league (and thus a high international profile that lets them also attract players who otherwise might be playing elsewhere). Without that profile, Wenger and champions league football - they'd never have Sanchez or Giroud etc. Wow, I've been saying this for years now to my Arsenal friends pretty much line for line and as of yet you seem to be the first person that has the same view of Arsene as me! Absolutely 100% spot on - when they become the next Liverpool, they may see the grass isn't always greener.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

the mad thing is , i can look my arsenal friends in the eye and laugh at them. They will never feel sympathy or sorrow for me. Even palace in a relegation struggle ( or in the championship ) is less embarrassing than that big quiet stadium with the same mediocre script every season.

I recall first meeting Wenger in Southampton, many, many years ago when my wife and I were staying in the same hotel as him and his team. He was a perfect gentleman, a real man of erudition with decency oozing from every pore and I was privileged to be in his company. swingers night ??

the problem that arsenal as a club have is if they get rid of him , is that wenger has total control over everything , stan kroenke is more than happy with his investment and doesn't get involved and the other execs there don't really have the clout . when david dein was there it was very much that they worked together but if it went wrong dein had the authority to pull wenger up or sack him if need be , at the moment its not like that , its down to wenger to resign . he seems a very intelligent and reasoned sort of man and I think he will leave on his own violation at the end of the season . arsenal fans don't know they are born , I agree with Jamie , if they don't get it right post wenger it could go horribly wrong Edited by richard shaw (og)65 (17 Feb 2017 2.32pm)
