I would sympathise if that were actually true.

There is all kinds of spurious claims made about diet in the name of profit making, most of which don't stand up under scrutiny.
Eat what you like, but don't expect others to do likewise.
As far as animal cruelty is concerned. Britain has some of the highest standards when it comes to the treatment of farm animals. I don't say that some practices are not unpleasant and I would be the first to legislate to reduce suffering to a minimum. Sadly there are many situations in the world where there are little or no guidelines or laws to protect animals and any campaign should be directed in that direction.
Expecting people to give up meat and other animal products completely is a non starter.

There are a growing number of books being published on the subject by doctors who advocate a plant based diet. Just because these doctors are not yet in the majority is not a reason to dispute their claims. There was a time when doctors recommended smoking for various dubious reasons. As you say there are many spurious dietary claims especially now but when you consider that some of the best athletes in the world are vegans not for reasons of concern for animals but for health then that is some evidence that this diet is a healthy one - Venus and Serena Williams, Nate Diaz(mma fighter), scott jurek (ultra runner), Kendrik Farris(only male american weightlifter to qualify for the olympics). Then there's the many snooker players who are vegan [Link] Novak Djokovic eats a mainly vegan diet and has opened his own vegan restaurant in Monte Carlo. More people are going vegetarian/vegan and will hopefully continue to do so as people begin to acknowledge the benefits of adopting a diet that benefits health, the environment and the people on the planet too.

Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshipping.

I don't suspect that Trump will survive the year to be honest, and his advisors seem to be falling at an alarming speed.

I keep forgetting its less than a month he's been in office, and he's already isolated himself from the media, the national security council, the CIA, NSA, DIA with the FBI under pressure, and any number of government agencies resisting being 'silenced'.

Throw in the number of advisors and campaign staff forced out over links with Russia, and another scandal brewing with the Deutesh banks loans to him, he's basically one month in, to a four year presidency of trying to avoid being forced to resign or impeached.

A bit of wishful thinking?

You should be cheering him on. He is defying the establishment.
