We just need a couple of results (although I agree it's hard to see where they are coming from). There's only 2 points between us and 16th/17th (but may change after today). The team played better yesterday and the new signings are helping. We have a 2 week break now so time for Dann, Sahko and Mandanda to get fit. As Sam said, we'll probably be scraping till May. Let's wait to pass judgement when the table looks more dire. Sunderland showed yesterday that they are just as delicate at the mo. Leicester are in free fall. Hull and Swansea could still come unstuck and Bournemouth are still in it. Let's see what happens in March and we'll have a better idea of our position. I'm worried, but I still have a gut feeling we'll scrap through.

I agree we still have a chance and those three you mentioned are important to us for the run in. Ward is a problem and I'm not sure that can be sorted unless Kelly is a short stop for right / wing back? Or even Zaha as wing back? We need some consistency at the back which we haven't had for a long while. Watched some of the Arsenal v Hull match yesterday before ours and I would back Hull more than us for getting out of trouble at the moment? Like you I think March may just be the start of our turnaround and we need a result against Middlesborough first to start that. All the players need to be up to it and those three mentioned just might start it for us - otherwise, we are doomed?

I'm at the age when the memory has started to go but I'm sure that having initially taken Bamford on a season loan it was at the end of that season that we sold Gayle and not as you have suggested

Either way he was sold with a view that he was championship standard whilst then buying bashford from doing well in the championship. Which was a gambel and gales goal % was good!!

Maybe it would be help if the squad trained on the Selhurst Park pitch.

Maybe that would help them with weight of pass, angles, goalkeeping positioning etc.

That's what Pulis did, and it paid off.

So you have the choice of gale or bashford? And you choose bashford. Yes utter nonsense

Tony Gale is a good bloke but he's getting on a bit. And rather Rashford than Bashford (whoever he is) or Bamford...

Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it..

Pardew kept Gayle hanging arpund but for some reason played Bumfluff ahead of him and continued to do so after it became clear he was s***e. After Bumfluff left he still kept Gayle on the sidelines.

We are looking a well beaten unit, no belief or direction. I just cannot understand what has happened to the club we knew. I don't believe changing Sam would make any difference the problem we have goes much deeper. Just look at our record over the last 13 months that is relegation form in a big way. I am confused and fed up as I was believing we had at last arrived as a club to be reckoned with, But NO we are Palace and we always mess it up don't we!!!

I totally agree with this. We look absolutely lost and broken. We have a losing mentality embedded in us. We've had it for 14 months now.

You can't just snap out of it. Keeping Pardew wouldn't of made the slightest bit of difference. To be honest he has to take the most blame for that losing mentality as 12 months of it was under him.

I've been shocked at just how negative the response has been in our play with a new manager. I don't think it's because it's Allardyce at all. I don't care what people say he's a good manager. I actually don't think it would matter who we had brought in. Something is seriously rotting away at the core of this squad.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!
