It's no more fanciful than other periodicals. The Guardian, Telegraph and Independent are all disposed to a little fantasy every now and again. The difference is that the Mail is more emotive than others. Do I think they 'form opinion'. No. I don't think any newspaper forms opinion these days.

The worse thing about the Mail is their hero worship of royals, celebrity obession and cringeworthy pandering to the quaint upper middle classes. As for the news and political stance, they are no worse than the Guardian but they seem to have become a palestine-esque cause celebre for left wingers to rally around, and indulge in some extreme virtue signalling by trashing the paper at every opportunity.

I'd be very interested to see some of the evidence that the Media is left wing. There is plenty of evidence that the media is right wing. Try the Media Lens website. As an example, I have posted a link to there article entitled `Undermining Democracy – Corporate Media Bias on Jeremy Corbyn, Boris Johnson and Syria' Turn on your TV.

A few years ago I amended a Wikipedia article about the rivalry between Palace and Brighton with a line about how we were the first to beat them at their new stadium (true) and that their fans were seen to be ripping up their season tickets and calling for Poyet to be fired (false). It was there for months before they took it down. Yeah, Wikipedia, full of facts!

The editors described the arguments for a ban as “centred on the Daily Mail’s reputation for poor fact checking, sensationalism and flat-out fabrication”. Now another trite tory tabloid rag like the Express.

That hasn't stopped Corbyn from carrying on as Labour leader after he demonstrated all these 'qualities' with the stunt he pulled on the Virgin train shown sat down in the corridor because he couldn't find a seat despite the train's CCTV actually showing him walking past loads of empty seats beforehand. Is Jezza exempt from vilification for "poor fact checking, sensationalism and flat-out fabrication?"

Wiki isn't claiming it is (more) reliable; it is claiming that when people want to cite/source something that the Daily Mail has proven to be an unreliable one. It is saying that in too many instances, when people have used the Daily Mail as a source it has been proven to be incorrect. The Mail should possibly be offended at the comparison to say RT or Fox News, both of which are still allowable.

Turn on your TV. You made a similar sort of suggestion - that got very muddled - about the ITV News not that long ago and it was comprehensively disproved then. There is evidence - from credible sources - that the news is slightly biased towards the "political right".
