Back in the days of Fortress Selhurst when opposition teams would get a roasting from fans and players I liked the intimidating nature of our cranky ground. But now we're losing I'm thinking I wouldn't mind being able to get to the toilets in the Arfur at half time once in a while.

Dissing our ground is fair game, it is holding us back as a club, bit racist re cockneys and London though, and Sunderland ... not a great place, Newcastle have always had an attractive side, Middlesboro always played quite progressive football, Sunderland though, similar to Birmingham City, has always been like a vortex of grimness and struggle, there was Peter Reid's flash in the pan and the '73 cup final, apart from that I can never remember their team being anything other than consistently dour, apart from Saturday. Roy Keane and Martin O'Neill both got bogged down by this oppressive atmosphere, they, unlike us, do get the max out of their catchment area, have a state of the art stadium, but it does them sod all good - they're about as successful as we are, so no wonder this bloke's bitter.

They don't like our ground!!! Do we care!!! But it is also staggering that a club like ours, which is recognised as having the largest catchment area in London and bigger than a lot of cities in the North, can still have such a dilapidated ground!! Come on the yanks!! It needs to be sorted out quickly whether we stay up or not Poor b*stard: not only did he have to spend a couple of hours in Selhurst Park, but then he had the indignity of having to go home to Sunderland. Ouch.

I like Selhurst, it has a great atmosphere (well, most of the time) and is one of the few old school football grounds left. I've never been to Sunderland but from the telly it comes across like the your average Ikea stadium full of folk moaning for 90min. Haven't heard great things about the city either.

Thing is it houses over 40,000 each 'Home' game which is excellent support.

You are a little unfair as you should be comparing Sunderland with SE25 and personally I wouldn't like to live in either. I very much doubt whether PVA lived in Sunderland much as I doubt whether Christian Benteke lives in Selhurst

PVA said "F*** this, take me to Beckenham." Fair and accurate enough?

It always makes me laugh these away fans singing our support is f***ing s***. No lads and lasses, our support is f***ing manically depressed.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Our support was almost non-existent and the reaction of many Palace "fans" was downright embarassing .

Having visited Wigan, Swansea and Cardiff and seen the turnout against Man City at home the cup this year and Liverpool at home in 5th round two years ago I personally couldn't give a fvck about the ground.

Location scouts for the next Mad Max film rejected Sunderland as a shooting location because it was too unbelievably bleak to pass as a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
