At least in a 3-5-2 formation, if Allardyce will use it again, playing Chungy instead of Ward is not that bonkers

Yes it is bonkers, in my humble opinion, don't be offended by that in isolation though, I think most of the threads you create and posts that you make are equally stupid.

Someone didn't see chungy defending against Everton. I would suggest jimmy mccarthur as rwb or rm.

Is one situation that relevant?
There have been many instances when his defending was good. McArthur has been good scoring or providing assists this season, it would be a pity to take him away from there

So you would rely on him. Late cross at the far post with someone 5'8'' plus jumping from behind him. Give it up mate. Formation and tactics expert you are not. Basics 1st, then sophisticated stuff.

Who IS an expert at Palace these days? Sam Allardyce? Pardew?
I've had enough of these experts.
My option hasn't been tried yet, so we can't tell if it would work. But theirs surely didn't.

I'm aware of the height handicap. However, Spanish sides with 5'6'' fullbacks almost always kick the English sides' butts in Europe. So, jumping to high balls is not all there is important. Taming the ball while smoothly passing is. I still remember the 4-0 trashing of Chelsea by Atletico when Atletico wasn't even a Champions League team. Or the destruction of Liverpool by Sevilla last year.

Who are the best right backs in the Premier League now and what are their heights? Bellerin's? Valencia's? Clyne's? How tall are left backs like Danny Rose?

And not just now, let's look to history. How tall was Gary Neville?
