Sam summoned all the players to a special 7am training/bollocking session on Sunday morning which presumably means he was going to work at that time to try to sort things out. I don't know anyone who willingly gets out of bed at sparrow's fart on what would normally be a day off if they don't give a f***.

The players have come in every sunday under bfs, think the only reason it was 7am was because he wanted to allow time to watch a rerun off the game with the players

How about this for a theory. They don't play for '' the man ''. They play for the club. For the fans. Oh, and of course the money. Not wanting to play for SA had nothing to do with WH dropping the ball. Or the defence failing to close players down shooting from range. Or for the schoolboy like defending against Defoe. I very much doubt that any of this shower are taking any moral high ground over what happened with SA and the England job. If they are that sensitive they should donate last Saturday's appearance money to charity. There is no onfield leadership. Its been missing since Pardew dropped Jedi. Everybody needs to wake up to the fact that Allardyce was the obvious candidate for the job. If you can't buy into it then point the finger at Steve Parish - he appointed him. It isn't that simple. It's not necessarily a case of not wanting to and downing tools, more a case of for want of a better way of putting it, lack of trust. They will or try to, do what the manager wants but if they don't have confidence or belief in the manager, it would not work. The difference between success and failure is a matter of a few % On Saturday we will have a better idea of whether Sunderland was an anomaly or not. We had started to look better and of course had the win at Bournemouth. If he isn't quite "on it" maybe Sunderland is the kick both Allardyce and his team needed.

I don't believe any of them are playing poorly deliberately at all. It's the almost 14 months of PL failure, which has been worse at home than away, that is paralysing the decision making processes. They've seen one error lead to disaster so many times now that it's become self-fulfilling. All the confidence has been drained, and they now play with fear, where if there's one mistake any plan goes out of the window and panic sets in. It's a very difficult mindset to change and I doubt Sam has ever faced a situation quite like it. If he can get all the new players into the team, and they can hit the ground running, that may have an influence on the rest of them; well at least let's hope so!
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

The team did not capitulate like they did on Saturday under Alan without scoring at the other end at least and not once did the crowd sing 'your not fit to wear the shirt' under him also.

Again singing that was more a result of the past almost year and a half of results, majority of which were under Pardew. It was just pent up aggravation. If we were safe and the same result happened, would the crowd reaction have been the same... probably not?
