I don't hate rudi hedman at all. Says a lot of valid stuff. So 'too' ain't right. Same for bexley man

I'm all for realism, but blimey cheer up FFS. There's 45 points to play for, we've just had a very good window considering and the attitude of the team and the way they're playing has taken a turn for the better.

If, God forbid, we do go down, 'bouncing back' and 'doing a Newcastle' are extremely unlikely. What is more likely is problems at board-level, a mass player-exodus and, at best, many years in Championship obscurity, with nothing whatsoever to show for four years in the PL and at worst, an inexorable slide down the tables.

Ah, more rays of sunshine from the Bard of Barnehurst.

I think this is bollocks.

If we end up in the Championship we will have top quality players to sell - Zaha and Benteke will want to leave and they're worth £50m or more for a start. I wouldn't think Souare and Wickham will be going very far having been out injured for most of the season; the latter would rip championship defence to bits and if the former recovers well he too would be a handful for their full-backs. Much will depend on the management: will Sam do a Rafa and want to get us back up?

However, I think and hope all this is academic. Adding in the players we've just acquired will address pretty much all of the shortcomings and they don't bring with them the weight of eighteen months' training with a total muppet.

Correct. If you ignore the lessons of histoy you are doomed to repeat them. This lesson is simple. Avoid muppets.

With the amount of financial backing Sam has had in this window if the results in this part of the season are not up to scratch the blame will be squarely on his shoulders. I accept he has inherited pardews squad, some of the injuries and the problems the man left us with but eventually there comes a point where you have to stop living in the past

But there lies the rub.
We've finally got a quality manager in who knows what he's doing but with the best will in the world he can't put things right overnight.
He's got to correct 2 years worth of damage.

I think it depends though, no one was thinking he was sh1t before the end of December 2015. Granted, the following, near 12 months, was a disaster. But clearly he was doing something right his first tweleve months or so in the job.

So 2016 wasn't bad enough for you then?

He hasn't got to correct it immediately. He can't. No one can. Enough to survive will have to do for now. No distractions of cups or transfers . The result tuesday is great and I understand why so many of us are clinging to it like our lives depend on it but the fanfare over it and Sam is all a little premature imo. Saturday is going to be a really difficult game. Underestimate it at your peril . Could be back down to earth with a bump come Saturday night. I feel more positive after the signings we have made in this window. The win was a bonus and a much needed one. We need to win to keep pace with the team's around us more than anything else.

Since he joined us we have won double the number of points that we did under AP in the same period last year!

2 more wins this season & he'll have a better record than the same period last year.

6 more wins & we'd be better than the whole of 2016.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!
