Okay, we'll give Strauss the benefit of the doubt.....What about Petersen and Matt Prior then?

Do you think Wilf and his family should be deported because he chose to play for his home country over England even though his family has leeched money from our system since he arrived here aged six?

Yes a ridiculous question I know.

You've missed out Eoin Morgan, Keaton Jennings and Ben Stokes from the current crop of England players

You missed out the bit about illegal substances and Quorn of course.

I don't like the way cricket just casually confers a place on the England team to the likes of Petersen, Strauss etc either... or the Rugby Union team with some fine old English names like Vunipola and Itoje.

Most of these "British" sports stars give bugger all back to the country that adopts them and provides support financially. As soon as they retire off they go to spend their money elsewhere.

Itoje was born here so that makes him English. The vunipolas came over with their parents as very young children and are proud to represent England. By your reckoning Laurence Bruno Nero Dallaglio was out of place too. How about Danny Cippriani? Dylan Hartley the England captain was born in New Zealand but i guess thats alright because it doesnt sound funny or foreign.

yeah, 25 grand , bet you and i would run ten miles for that, and its good publicity for mo to be running, and 11 ladys live and children have a mother to grow up with, win win!

I'd be surprised if 25k would cover the cost in terms of training and time it would take me to get into the kind of shape were I could run 10 miles.

My sister runs half marathons for Charidee, it costs her about four hours a week just to keep her fitness up.

People with cancer shouldn't have to rely on charities for vital drugs.

Its odd that people on a football site are complaining about someone being paid to run a race, given how much players are paid and transfer fees involved.

ok, but my point was that the london marathon is actually about charity, it shouldnt have gone to mo, not 800 grand, not blaming mo, i dont dislike the guy, just the idiot that offered him the 800 grand, instead of say 25 grand!

F**K charity. People who sponsor people, or ask for people to sponsor them, are effectively deluding themselves into believing they're 'good people'.

Give to causes, or don't give to causes. Its your choice. Same as if you want to dress up as a woman at work do so. But ffs stop extorting people to do so.

Don't give a s**t about something once a year, do it regularly.

And asking people to sponsor you is just begging.

I'm not convinced by him....

Born in Somalia and does all his training now in USA yet he is dubbed "British" and has been given a Knighthood for his achievements.. now he's moaning about him and his family being caught up in Trump's new Visa requirements.

Is he British or what?

Seems to me he's used us for as long as it suits him, now he wants to live out his days in the sunnier climes of the USA with his fortune largely achieved with a major amount of help from the UK taxpayers and lottery players.

I'm not convinced about him being "British" at all!

Sounds very British to me.

Works hard to achieve success, makes a load of money, complains about foreigners, then f**ks off to live in sunnier climes and take advantage of foreign tax laws.

Good on him, he's worked f**king hard, for a bloody long time with no guarantee of success. And I bet a long time before he was 'a rising star' he received f**k all in tax payer funding and sponsorship.

You couldn't pay me enough to be a marathon runner, the sheer amount of training just to remain fit is absurd.

Well except of course being about sports people being paid 'absurd amounts of money'.

Is that his nickname, the Mo Bot.

Why would I get excited watching him run a marathon. That sounds even more boring than watching F1 racing.

Well if they all had proper British names, they'd be playing for Ireland, Scotland or Wales.

What about Grace, that name is old French, with its origin being in Roman Latin.
