Newcastle want to loan Townsend and who else would want to shell out for him in a sulk and playing if it suits him for England or club size /status or whatever it's about in his delicate professional athlete's brain.

Apparently Hull have made a counter bid which includes the Elgin Marbles, so this one won't happen.

He played for Anderlecht here in Belgium (about two years ago). Was considered to be a talent but never really managed to get a firm spot in Anderlecht's first team. Ultimately left for Greece (where I heard he's been performing better). Not entirely convinced he has the quality we seek/need though. Edited by Belgian Eagle (26 Jan 2017 4.02pm)

Maybe he was still learning his trade a bit when he was in Anderlecht?

And he did show some quality from time to time (many argued that Anderlecht should've given him more chances). But then again, difficult to predict as I don't rate the Belgian and Greek league very highly :-)
