As someone has already said he was good at Blackburn, I'm sure at the time he was being linked with a move to Arsenal (although I could be wrong).

At Qphaha he was appalling, a complete donkey.

Although I'm very sceptical I don't really see any harm in giving him a chance. If he gets anywhere near his form at Blackburn he could prove very useful.

A lot of players were useless at that time at qpr. Big Sam has got the best out of him before,he was colossal at Blackburn. Can't be any worse than what we have and there's not many decent CB's around at the mo for a decent price.

From the Croydon Advertiser:

"It is understood he was looked at by Palace's club doctors but isn't fit enough to train, let alone play. He may even need an operation, which puts any deal on hold for now."

So his presence is not really going to mean anything to us for a while yet. My question is, if he can't even train how can we assess him? By the size of his feet?

I think you're going to have to ask Sam to explain this one. Hopefully he's not going to be included in the 25, as there would seem to be little point. Sounds like a charity case

Crap business. Pathetic Parish. You must be planning to get relegated. Utter crap. Another bargain basement cheapy that will just take up squad space and cost money.

Seems unlikely he'll have anything to contribute but I suppose a trial is fine to confirm.

Not really because until we're winning every game of the season and every competition we enter you can always pick fault with the squad and say where we could improve. You can't defend signing Samba.

Yeah well I bet there will be fewer faults, fewer holes and fewer options for oppo managers to exploit. This is where Pardews naivety got the better of him. He forgot there was an opposition making it difficult and by the looks of it trained without them in mind whatsoever.

Pardew's damaged us and his reputation, or just confirmed what others already knew. SA is rebuilding with correctly positioned players, not whoever's going, plus Samba, although SA knows Samba and I bet he's cheap considering the many issues we have.

Squad places may not be a concern.

Many issues in the squad, Samba being cheap and only so much money and some not fancying it will definitely be a factor.

Remember prem squads have 4 CBs apart from us. Why give us 1 of them? Don't you think a decent one elsewhere will cost a big sum? £10mil again? Bang goes PatVan.

I don't want him, but I'm not in charge.
Bit sick of the abuse aimed at Parish though. I assume you all know exactly what's going on, what wages are being paid and who brings in what player for trails. Parish backs his managers, but he can only do so much, because we have a Stadium, training ground and Academy to fund and we have to stay within FFP boundaries. Surely SP has built up some credit with some of you over the years?

I wasn't aware we were signing him, only invited along to assess his fitness at the training ground.
I would of thought it prudent to explore all options. Does anyone really thinks we are going to sign him, if he is unfit, injured and asking silly money.

Well the precedent is there when we signed Lee.
I remember Samba at QPR he was unfit and useless.
